Wet webs and digital magic… part 7… special ‘dark web’ edition…

b 1

Yes, they are still my photos of webs that I misted with fake dew… but I only used dark and sinister digital magic this time.

b 2

That gave me a chance to turn the term ‘dark web’ into something less sinister in my title.

b 3

It is still art, but now it is a dark art… HA! I crack me up.

b 4

Anyway…

b 5

Here they are…

b 6

More weird stuff…

b 7

Brought to you by me and the crack squirrels that live in my head.

Here is the original photo I took…

Wet webs and digital magic… part 6…

b 1

Okay, you know the drill…

b 2

I am taking those photos I took of wet spider webs…

b 3

And working a little digital magic on them.

b 4

This is pretty easy to do.

b 5

It took me longer to spray the fake dew on the webs and take the pictures.

b 6

So, not only do I end up with awesome art, but I have the cleanest spiders in the neighborhood.

Here is the original image I used for all of these…

Is it just me, or does it seem like there is a dark cloud hanging over tRump and the White House?

Faces in the darkness… part 4…

And here is the mirror image I made without the rain effect…

Just your typical zombie-Ent.

Faces in the darkness… part 3…

imageedit_4_3280453328

Uh oh, I guess maybe burning trees aren’t as funny as I first thought. But here is the original mirror image I made…

Faces in the darkness… part 2…

imageedit_5_6136169042

Okay, I decided to take my mirror image moon-tree face photo idea, and bump it up a notch.

a 1

I mean, why just show the evil tree-kitty when I can add creepy fog?

Faces in the darkness… part 1…

a 1

Okay, so sue me, I made the title of this series more melodramatic than it needs to be. These are more of those pictures I take with my phone when I am walking around work late at night, and I see the moon peeking through some tree or other.

a 2

Then, I go into Photoshop, copy part of the photo that looks like an eye and part of a face…

a 3

Copy that part, paste it, and flip it over, before aligning it with its other half. If you look closely, you will often see strange face-shaped images that appear down the middle of these mirror images by pure chance. Like in the very first photo, I see a human skull with tusks.

a 4

Also, the entire image often looks like something. That one makes me think of a goat… a devil goat. I should have added slitted pupils.

a 5

That might be an angry elephant?

a 6

A preying mantis? A warthog? A triceratops? This is like a freekin’ Rorschach test.

a 7

Ummm… I got nothin’ on that one. It does remind me of some tribal art I have seen.

a 8

Okay, that one looks more like a warthog… a warthog wearing a fez.

a 9

Nice kitty. Okay, see you back here soon to see what the crack squirrels living in my head make me do next.

Wet webs and digital magic… part 5…

a 1

To be honest, some of these are not digitally enhanced so much as just cropped to a small portion of the photo.

a 2

But I found a new web that was in direct sunlight.

a 3

So I misted that sucker with my patented ‘fake dew’.

a 4

I am still trying to get a photo of the water gleaming like diamonds.

a 5

But when I zoom in, they are still a little blurry. I am talking about really small droplets here.

a 6

See, that is nice, but I want the whole rainbow, not just the sparkle.

a 7

But it will happen sooner or later, just like my perfect picture of a dog shaking off water will happen.

a 8

I will keep trying, and until then…

a 9

I will probably continue to do stuff to the pictures to make them more interesting.

a 10

Because you know I hate to waste a fairly good photo.

a 12

When I can share them with you.

Wet webs and digital magic… part 4…

b 1

So, you know what is going on here, right?

b 2

Reading enough of the words so that you don’t need to have it explained over and over…

b 3

Following along just enough so that you don’t feel lost…

b 4

At least enough so that you aren’t asking yourself what is happening here…

b 5

Because you know the last thing I want to be responsible for…

b 6

Is any sort of confusion.

a 3

There is the original photo I took, and let’s face it, it is weird enough that I go around annoying spiders by using a mister bottle to spray their webs just to make fake dew for a photo op. Let’s not compound the issue by making it weird.

Wet webs and digital magic… part 3… (or): See, I told you we were done with the stupid cat pictures, so back to the usual unusualness!!!

b 1

Yes, we are back to taking those photos I took of spider webs after I misted them with fake dew, and doing some digital magic on them, just to see what we can come up with. Ironically, that filter in Photoshop is called ‘liquefy’, which is funny to use on a web that I pre-liquefied.

b 2

Okay, so I was going to do one of my mirror image things, but I forgot to copy the selected rectangle before I flipped it. I liked the way it looked, so I did that a few more times.

b 3

Interesting.

b 4

That is sort of cool.

a 2 copy

And that is what happens when you do some mirror imaging and some playing with the color.

a 2

And there we have the original image.
