This blog needs no explanation… or perhaps it defies explanation would be more accurate…either way, it is self-explanatory, and speaks for itself, in a disjointed and somewhat snide (or perhaps sarcastic would be a better word) manner, even as it contradicts itself and simultaneously takes itself too seriously… seriously…see what I mean? Do not fall for this blog…do not get sucked in by its lies and manipulations…by the way it sounds so damn clever and drones on and on even as you are lulled into a state of semi-consciousness…then burrows into your trusting brain like some insidious worm…and the pictures, the funny pictures, so small and nonthreatening, so you smile drowsily and give a small nod of appreciation, not realizing the subtle context and sub-text and hidden messages that are so obvious once you lean close to stare deeper into the pretty, colored pixels…Flee, flee, while there is still time…….

Hello Arthur! I tried adding you on FB! I would still like to meet your puppers so message me back on there or email me. I hope you and your family are doing good miss you lots!
This is Nisha by the way HAHAH
HEY BUDDY!!!
uh…
I’ve enjoyed your humour for a long time now but…duh…I only just realised you write sci-fi? Do you have a link to an ebook on Amazon?
I have book links in my sidebar. I write and illustrate children’s books, a world war two murder mystery set in London, a sci-fi series, and now some new stuff.
I’ll have to check out your sci-fi. 😀
That would be awesome.
Speaking of your awesome books, Art, How DID you put those links in your sidebars? I’ve upgraded to premium, and would love to put my book link in my sidebar. Is there a widget or something?
It is a widget, I think. I just kept having to try it over and over again.
Well if you ever remember the widget name that would be very helpful thanks
You just have to go through all the menus. If I can do it, you can. I am not a technical guy.

Sir, you wouldn’t happen to be Charley Boorman, would you? I had just recently noticed a similarity between you and him, and wondered if there was any relationship.
I don’t think I do.
weirdly, I have one of those faces that always seems to remind everyone of someone else.
What a funny blog. Glad I’ve stumbled across you, all the way from sunny Australia. Keep smiling and keep enjoying the journey. Cheers.
Thanks so much, and welcome.
DO NOT photoshop your head next to the award! Although coming to think of it..it might be cool. https://babysteps22.wordpress.com/2015/06/02/premio-dardosno-im-not-cursing-you/
Thanks so much.

uh… yeah… simmer down, people…
Hi Art – A mutual friend encouraged me to check you out – so I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I will be back to read more after work. Nice to meet you 🙂
Yay… and welcome. If you feel like it, click the link at the top of the sidebar, the one to where we are trying to break the record for most comments on a post. Leave a comment there. Or go crazy and randomly reply to old comments. You can meet some neat people, or just be a part of history… maybe… sort of…
Ok I will soon 🙂
awesome. And don’t worry. If you ever get bored here, I promise I will be doing something new before you know it… because I have crack squirrels living in my head… sigh…
lol So much for introductions! Now I really want to read your blog!
Please bring some water… and a rope… and good walking shoes… and some snack bars… and maybe a snake bite kit… and a machete.
Always up for a good adventure, Art, but that sounds a little dangerous…
It is a swamp down there… I mean, not in a bad scary way… just messy like a swamp… it is my whole life… oh, and when you need a break, hit the button in the top bar for some original music videos
OK – original sounds good
Ok… no more pressure… take your time… have fun…
Who is our ‘mutual friend’ anyway… maybe they really hate you and are trying to make you get lost over here?
It’s the blogging Superstar himself – Trent – Mr. Magic in other words…!
Oh… he is my head minion… he is number two around here… he is a big number two now, because he has gone missing…
Ha Ha – hope you’re ready for some payback! But you know you have to give him a break because it can’t be easy living up to his magical writing reputation…
He is supposed to be up in Canada editing a novel of mine… not riding around on a moose chasing beaver… just for a laugh, try typing ‘Trent’ into the little magnifying glass search button thing….
OMG! OK but I’ve never used that before
you literally just type the word ‘Trent’ in the box and hit the search button and it takes you to all the posts that mention Trent.
You really are tight! OK then
I like him as much or more than any other person on this planet that I never actually met.
Yes the blogging world is strange that way.
That’s why I fit in so good… they need me.
All I am really saying is that the civil war reenactment is sort of a fluke. Never did it before. Might never do it again. I tend to be all over the place. So if you just scroll back for as long as you can stand it without even slowing down, you will get a good idea of whether this is a good place for you or not.
OK that was random, but I will surmise there is some kind of war activity going on on your blog – just got home again, so haven’t had a chance to visit – should I re-consider??!
We went to a civil war reenactment and I got drafted for the afternoon. It was just a thing that happened to me, not a defining moment.
I used to live by Fort Meigs where the Ohio battle in 1812? was fought – I think… but anyways, they take their reenactments very seriously there!
I was in Ohio once… Columbus… but I cant tell that story here.
Was it sports related? Or High Street related? I’ll bet it was the latter…
It was… youthful indiscretion related… and this is a family friendly blog… mostly… except when Trent has been drinking when we have the reunions on the record breaking comment post.
I’ll have to go back and read those comments now – but stop slandering poor Trent!
But that is what he comes here for…
I’m glad you guys have so much fun 🙂
We have a strange mutual admiration bordering on man crush.
Nice. TMI
If that is too much information, don’t do that Trent search thing…
OK ignorance is bliss, eh?
I have never tried ignorance, so I have no way of knowing.
seriously, do not be nervous… there are babies down there… and horsies… and cute stuff… and art, and stories and travels around the world… okay, the Dick Cheney parts could be considered scary, but if you are not a fan of his, then you will love them.
Oh, and there are flowers and sunsets and sunrises… and even more babies… and animals, and cartoons and silliness stuff…
That’s good to know cuz (cos?) that’s what I like the very best of all – with sprinkles and a cherry on top, please…and extra whip cream
wait… flowers and sunsets with sprinkles? Or babies?
Umm…good point – you did leave out ice cream and lollipops, but I’ll bet you’ve got those too
I bet I do
lol
HA! Also, this is a no ‘lol’ zone… you can say ha, Ha, HA, Ha!, HA! HA!!, HA!!!, Ha!!!, Ha!!! ha!!! or; dang that was funny and I am rolling around on the floor literally and figuratively laughing out loud… but no ‘lol’… I did posts about it…
Well excuse me – didn’t know 3 little letters could ruffle your feathers that badly! Is it too valley girlish or something? Or too texty?
You can’t take anything I say that seriously. I am trying to explain a lot of stuff in a short time here. So I might sound short now and then, even though I’m not… because I’m tall. But the answer to why I hate the lol… aside from the fact that nobody ever really means it truthfully… is a funny one… but I already did a post explaining why I hate it… maybe even more than one post about it… and it is hard to redo all the information in a post when the post is right down there somewhere.
OK I won’t take anything you say seriously so I’ll keep using lol then, k?!
except that
ok I’ll try
HA!!!!! (that is the most potent form of ha, which is at least as powerful as that ‘l’ thing, and has the advantage of not being an exaggeration)
I once read something on the importance of punctuation and how when you know someone really well, you can tell how they feel by how they use periods, commas, etc. And the semi-colon was considered the “champagne” of punctuation because it’s supposed to be used so rarely. Just thought I would pass that along – even though I’m sure you’re aware.
I don’t have time for punctuation… or spelling… which might seem like an odd thing for an author to say… but if you consider the fact that half the comments on the post with 40,000 comments are mine… and the fact that this blog has a total of 130,588 comments and I did half of them because I always answer every comment… and the fact that I am more worried about the actual posts than the comments… and that I am doing a bunch of other writing as we speak… I just do the best I can.
Too late… I couldn’t look away, and now I’ve been pulled into this vortex, blog, or whatever it is. Why were you yelling flea, flea—I mean their bites aren’t so bad. Hey Art, I like what you’ve done to the place.
Thanks so much… wait… did I really spell ‘flee’ as flea somewhere???
Oh this darn English language so many ways to spell words sea what I mean—I mean see. Anyway, I like your blog Art, I really do looks like a lot of fun, and I am enjoying reading it. :o)
Well, I appreciate that, because its only function is to amuse people.

Love it. Consider me caught in your slippery trap of weirdness…
No… I expected so much more of you… you have been consorting with the English… you should be way too sophisticated to fall for my tricks. Try channeling Stephen Fry.
Nah. I’m way too plebian for the likes of him. I smile too much and say things like”Wow!” and “That’s so cool!” My approach to life is entirely pedestrian.
Alrighty then, fellow pedestrian… let’s walk together for a while, shall we?
Sound good to me! (I can still admire S. Fry from the depths, though…) Do y’all get QI over there on BBC America? He’s awesome.
I have an English friend recording it for me because I haven’t found it here yet…. Hey, before you get too comfortable, or decide this place isn’t really for you… can you leave a comment on our post where we are breaking the record for the most comments? The link is at the top of the sidebar. There are over 35,000 comments so far. You will be a part of history. Also, if you ever get bored, you can go in there and reply to random comments that catch your eye. It is a great way to meet new blogger friends. I have the best commenters on the planet.
What a brilliant idea! I would love to rip it off, but I’m too pedestrian for that. I know when I’ve been out classed… But yes, I will do that! It will be tomorrow though… Just shutting down for the night. 😪
No rush… no pressure…
I’m outta here!!!
It is refreshing to know that some people take my warning seriously…
OK, you’re definitely out there. My kinda dude/writer. You’ve been here for a while and I have a question. How did you find me? I’m trying to figure out how WP bloggers find one another. Yeah, I popped over to Recommended and Fresh Pressed. But is there some sort of alert or sump’n that says Yo! Take a gander! I posted my first WP entry and out of the bloggy mist, there you were. Grateful as your comments made my feeble self feel happy and also allowed me to check out your terrific writing. I am now subscribed. I’d be crazy not to be. (I know as a fellow Bipolar this comment does not offend). You are not by WP tutor but any insight would be appreciated. Also interesting. And I suspect highly amusing. Cheers, bro.
Thanks. I am actually a computer idiot, but I found you because I often just scroll down the humor topic reader page. I comment on posts that catch my eye, or on new bloggers starting out, just to encourage them.
The other best way to meet people is to read all the comments on blogs you follow and reply to them. I am famous for having the best commenters in the world.
Please go to our post where we are trying to break the record for the most comments… the link is over at the top of my sidebar…. leave a comment, and then read some of the old ones. If one seems funny, you can click and reply to it. Most people will answer you, even if they made the comment weeks ago.
How have I been on WordPress so long without discovering your blog before? Or maybe… I’ve been here longer than you have! o_0
I have just been sitting here… waiting for you… sniff…
Awww… *pats you* I’m here now.
wait… am I falling for this blog?
Noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No… you are obviously much to smart to fall for any of my tricks… hey… have you left a comment on the post where we are trying to break the record for the most comments on a single post? We have almost 35,000 comments so far… the link is right over there at the top of the sidebar…
Holy moly no!! I’ll go and do that right now!
Also, there are free snacks in the lobby. And some of my original song videos are in the top bar thing… and there are books… and lots of stuff to do… but do not explore on your own without a map… and rope, water, boots, a knife and gun, and some chewing gum.
I do hope you mean a squirt gun. I’m Canadian you know. This precludes putting anything explosive in anything stronger than a balloon.
And it cuts down on extra water bottles! Bonus! 😀
Guns don’t actually work inside this weird world of mine, I just think that disclaimer makes me sound exciting. And what it is it with Canadians. They love me! I mean, I’m not saying you love me… yet…
Do you know Trent Lewin? Or List of X? Or Doobster418… or Gibber… or Bumblepuppies? Those are my loyal minions…
Doobster is your minion? Hahahaha! Somehow I find that hard to comprehend. Yeah, he does my SoCS post every Saturday. 😀 I know GibberJabber too. 🙂
It must be the sunglasses. We Canadians don’t get enough sun up here to need them, what with the year-round snow and all.
I have actually been toying with the idea of posting a map of the blog. There is a lot to do here. I mean, I try to set it up so you can find stuff that interests you. I have that wordcloud thing in the sidebar. I have my action/adventure/humor sci-fi novel series and the kid’s books I wrote and illustrated over there. There is music. Lot’s of Photoshop stuff… I make fun of things… and famous people… lots of fiction… I don’t know where to start…
Sounds like one of those corn mazes you see in the fall, where people get lost until Santa scoops ’em up at Christmas time and drops them down their own chimneys. That happens, right?
That is why I welcome people with the ‘don’t explore alone’ routine.
Makes sense. Soot sucks. 😉
I’ll be sure to leave myself a trail of breadcrumbs. Or do you prefer Froot Loops?
The cannibals just eat the trail if you leave food of any sort. But it is the quicksand… and the crack squirrels… that you have to watch out for.
Quicksand and crack squirrels?! I’d better get to bed! I have my work cut out for me in the morning!
I look forward to it…
Have a good night! See you at the crack of dawn… or the crack of noon or something. 🙂
the crack of squirrel… I would also have accepted the crack of doom…
Haha! Duly noted.

Excuse me, is this the About Page that everyone is linkng to? I am an officer for the Link Police (LP), and we have determined that there is an abnormal amount of activity in links here. It is starting to upset the balance that keeps the blog world stable. We are concerned there may be a tear in the space/time continuum imminent due to the destablilizing shear force being exerted by the number of links to this page.
This is your first warning and you are hereby required to write a blog post about this phenomenon. If the problem continues we may be forced to take stricter measures..

I stumbled upon this strange land by way of your answer to my selfie question on Gibber Jabberin… I just had to see who this self[ie]-obsessed maniac was.
Can’t say that I regret it [yet].
No… not yet… but did you scroll down to the pictures of me on the horse in Maui… not the one on the other horse… I invented selfies that don’t have names yet… I also invented the wardrobe malfunction… but don’t go looking for that one yet… not until you get used to being here…
I think I’ve been around the Internet too long. Nothing fazes me anymore, sadly.
Bring it on 😉
Well, as long as you don’t go poking around looking at older stuff, I am sure you will be quite safe… (Ha… how was that for subtle?)
The WordPress Reader suggested I check out your blog because I follow some of your followers. Well, OK, my followers are pretty smart people (obviously). The moment I saw “Ripping out my guts for your entertainment” at the top of your pages, I knew I would sign up, and reading a few of your posts didn’t change my mind. I’m looking forward to following my followers who are following you.
Yay… And thanks… And please leave a comment on our record breaking comment post… Over there on the right of the sidebar… To be a part of history… And meet some cool people…
Thanks. I saw that, but didn’t really read it. Now I have (well, part of it anyway – I didn’t have time to read all 32,000+ comments.)
We might make it into a book
Alright, so I felt like after laughing at your remarks for so long at Bumblepuppies blog, it was about time I checked you out. Great stuff here to explore. And we’re “neighbors” too – –
Stephanie
Yay… and thanks.
OK no where does it say you’re in SoCal.
I just did a post… about taking my wife on a date to downtown San Diego…
What?! I was just about to leave a comment here, after seeing Pouringmyartout’s comments for months now on another funny blog I follow, and my comment was going to be about living in San Diego. Then I come here and see you, dear Princess….have just made a similar remark only yesterday! What are the odds! What led you here? I love the small world blogosphere phenomenon!
Stephanie
It is called ‘synchronicity’
So crazy, I’ve been here since 1968! Went to Crawford High, SDSU, lived in Hillcrest for awhile, and then moved to Carlsbad in ’85 and I’m still here. Same house LOL. You?
It is all back there in the blog somewhere… Bay Area boy with some interesting ties to San Diego.
so are ya gonna give me the link or make me wade through your entire body of work? PS Hubs from Half Moon Bay.
Everything I do is to get people to read my blog from the beginning…
I moved here (from Northridge – – valley girl with no accent!) for my first marriage in 89. Been here since and am in La Costa Valley now after divorces. Well, my guess is PouringMyHeartOut doesn’t appreciate our bios on his blog…lol…so I will look for you on your own and back on FB Midlife too.
Take care!
Stephanie
Hey, feel free to talk about yourselves… or amongst yourselves… but do it on the post that we are trying to break the record for most comments… win/win…

I really did try to warn you, didn’t I?
You’ve been nominated for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Click here to read seven pointless facts about me and claim the award. Or not. It’s your life.
And, so what if this is a generic message. The sincerity is there.
I appreciate it. I don’t do those awards. I have no place to put them, and I have most of them. But I am very honored.
That’s fine. I totally understand. No hard feelings… 😥
No, I kid. It’s cool maann.
I think I have like 4 of those ones already… I am that good… but I suck at the links, being a computer moron, and I talk about myself so much I can’t think of new things to say about me. Sorry.
It’s fine. I get it ahaa, you’re just popular. 😉
People love me… almost as much as I love myself… but not quite… because that would be creepy…
You must love yourself an awful lot…
somebody has to
Hi there,
I nominated you for one of those award things because I’m nice like that.
Yes, this is a generic message but when you visit my post and see how long it is, you won’t judge me.
So why don’t you hop on over and view the post. Being beer, or cake.
https://cupidorcats.wordpress.com/2014/06/11/very-inspiring-blogger-award/
oh wow
Wipe those tears and go have a celebratory beer. I actually wrote bear, but that might be dangerous. It’s a beautiful moment.
I had a celebratory bear once… I still have the scars… and the memories…
We don’t have bears in Ireland but we do have rather large squirrels so it’s kinda the same thing.
I get them confused all the time.

I nominated you for the Liebster Award! You can check out the details:
http://2bcreativeblog.com/2014/05/06/thank-you-rami/
Thank you so much… I think I have three of those… I never really do the awards. I have no place to put them, and I think wordpress just does it to keep us busy so we don’t take over the world, but I am truly flattered and honored.
Welcome! No problem! Hopefully, you get some more traffic too! 🙂
I can always use more traffic… thanks again.

I NEVER READ THIS BEFORE!!!! How is that even possible?
Well, I have to say that I found it disturbing and intensely erotic. I don’t know what else to ask for in an About page.
I think it is a fine piece of reverse psychology
Typed in humor and landed here. You’re a funny, funny, clever, clever person 🙂

Hi – I’ve been reading your blog for a while and love the time I spend here.
I wanted to let you know that I have nominated you for the Quartet of Radiance Award at http://brightbluebean.wordpress.com/2014/04/05/someone-likes-reading-my-blog/
I am truly honored by this, but I have stopped doing those awards… I have no place to put them…
