Saving Christmas; part 3…
We managed to pull off our traditional Christmas dinner, after all the quarantining and testing and what not. Did I mention that I drove my mother-in-law’s RV to the Bay Area in a convoy with my wife, younger daughter and … Continue reading →

Saving democracy… part 1…
My 97-year-old mother, with Joe Biden. Because we had a late Christmas, we decided we should have a late New Years also. It was all planned by my older daughter Jessica. We did it during the inauguration. It was more … Continue reading →

Saving Christmas; part 2…

More random photos from my long drive in a motor home to socially-distant visit my 97-year-old-mom in the San Francisco Bay Area, so we can wrap this thing up…
A turkey taking a walk. A weird squirrel I met in the Berkeley Rose garden… what does he have in his mouth? It looks like the stuffing from a plush animal doll. Is he building a nest? Is he a … Continue reading →

Not just any…
A father and his son, walking together. They enjoy each other’s company, the father giving lessons about nature without being too obvious that he is teaching anything at all. Sometimes no word are exchanged, and the moment is enough. The … Continue reading →

Some perks of driving 500 miles in a motor home to visit my 97-year-old mother at the house in the Bay Area where I grew up, in a socially-distant, responsible manner… I mean the visit, not me when I was growing up, I was perhaps socially-distant, but no way was I ever responsible…
So I borrowed my mother-in-law’s motor home to visit my mom. Is that weird? Also, is it weird that for a 60-year-old guy my legs are still so sexy? First perk; Dew-speckled roses in the morning. Sorry, I know you … Continue reading →

The garden where I played as a child…
The old plum tree on the top level of our backyard. Every year, mom would say “don’t eat too many plums” and every year at least two of us, my three brothers and I, would get tummy aches… or worse. … Continue reading →

My mom’s garden: Dew-kissed roses in the morning…
No, that dew isn’t fake dew from my spray mister-bottle! I took these in my mom’s backyard, in the Bay Area, where I am staying for a week… Okay, I am not staying in the backyard, exactly. I am actually … Continue reading →

Mirror mirror off the wall… the very last one… you know, unless I do some fun digital effects on some of the photos I did the mirror effects on…
We are back where we started, on a picture of a bridge. Not just any bridge, but my favorite bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, which, ironically, is where I started also, because I was born in San Francisco, and grew … Continue reading →

Things you should never ever do on a jet ski…
Do not lay face down and do a one-handed push up on a jet ski. I don’t care how manly it makes you look. Don’t put you face on the handlebars. If you hit a wave, you will knock your … Continue reading →
