This is how democracy works…

Coincidentally, I was born on the very day that Preparation H was first marketed to the public… not sure what that says about me exactly…

The last sunset…

These are the last of the photos I took on my last night on my recent trip to the Bay Area.

I guess I have one more post worth of pictures of San Francisco, as seen from across the Bay.

And that will be it for this adventure.

Birds, dogs, friends, family, flowers, and so on.

I can’t believe I have been back in San Diego for a week already.

And that we are going to have a new president…yeah!

Hopefully…

Fingers crossed…

What’s to become of them now… a look into the future of ‘the tRump gang’… part 2…

What’s to become of them now… a look into the future of ‘the tRump gang’… part 1…

I am breaking out the old crystal ball and gazing into the future of the people… cronies, minions, hangers-on, bottom-feeders, parasites, lackeys, toads, mouthpieces, lawyers and family members who have been sucked into the orbit of planet tRump.

First on the list is Rudy, who, after a short prison stint, will return to his beloved New York, where he will finally get paid for wearing a dress, while still being able to mock and malign all that America stands for, without even having to open that hideous mouth of his.

Well, these are almost the last of the photos from my recent adventure to the Bay Area…

I will have a post or two of the sunset photos I took from the Berkeley Hills, of the sun setting over San Francisco. And some pictures of the city itself.

I don’t know what those are called. Cat Tails?

But I like them.

The rest of these photos are from a walk I took around the block where I grew up.

Escept for the last few bird shots, which are from my mom’s backyard.

So, how about this election, huh?

Talk about a nail-biter.

Anyway…

My mom and I never did figure out what this cute little yellow bird is.

It looks very young, so maybe it hasn’t got all its distinguishing marks yet.

We think this is a Thrush… maybe… it was so cute and tiny.

But I think that is what she thought it was.

A Mocking Bird.

And a little white butterfly on the wing.

More random photos from my long drive in a motor home to socially-distant visit my 97-year-old-mom in the San Francisco Bay Area, so we can wrap this thing up…

A turkey taking a walk.

A weird squirrel I met in the Berkeley Rose garden… what does he have in his mouth? It looks like the stuffing from a plush animal doll. Is he building a nest? Is he a crack squirrel? You gotta love the Bay Area.

The famous Berkeley Rose Garden. Not too exciting at the wrong time of year for roses, which is why I hand-sprayed fake dew from my little misting spray bottle on all the best roses just for you in those earlier posts.

The Rose Garden uses a misting system to mist its roses, and hence, the rainbow.

A little waterfall.

Baby redwoods gathered around their mommy.

I can still see you, you weird little squirrel.

You are weird, but adorable.

My mom, using one of her bird books to identify bird from the pictures I take with a telephoto lens and then enlarge for her, because she can’t see too well anymore… or hear…

I am standing far back, don’t worry.

I took that picture one night through the kitchen window as she ate dinner and I stood outside, alone…

I found this Halloween scene on one of my walks in my old neighborhood. Notice the plastic bag in the middle. Is that an anti-drug statement, or did somebody’s drugs fall out of their pocket while they were preparing for Halloween. Once again, you gotta love the Bay Area.

And the moon. Goodnight, moon

You know, there is a reason they call it the ‘Golden’ Gate bridge…

And it has nothing to do with that gold rush thing.

So of course while I was visiting my mom in the Bay Area, I went up into the Berkeley Hills to get some sunset pictures for you. Wrong time of year for nice sunsets, and the haze from the fires that are still filling the sky with smoke in California, mixed with a light misty fog, did not bode well for a nice sunset.

But I stuck around… for you.

A little color began to appear in the sky.

Not the reds and pinks we all like so much, but still, very nice.

It had a feel to it.

It looks a little different without the telephoto lens.

But you take what you get with Mother Nature.

Yup.

But that is about as golden as golden gets.

So we will take it.

Right?

Just more dew-kissed roses… part 2…

Just more dew-kissed roses… part 1…

Hey, I said no more pictures of flowers from my mom’s garden. I never said, when I drove all the way from San Diego to the San Francisco Bay Area to visit her that I wouldn’t take a side trip to the world famous Berkeley Botanical Rode Gardens.

Also, the ‘dew’ is totally fake. I brought along my little spray-mister bottle.

And the roses are real, grown by rose breeders all over the world.

So they are rare roses, unseen by many people.

But now you see them too, you lucky duck!

That one hardly even looks like a rose, but it does have a little green ladybug type visitor.

Oh, Mother Nature, you rock!

You do like your colors.

I like them too.

I just like to moisten them a little, for the photographic effect.

Hello, bee.

And another of those little bugs. I did not spray the insects, just so you know. No living things were moistened in the making of this post.
