Why you should follow this blog… part 3… (or); I will show you my thing!

a 60No… not like that… simmer down… this is a family-friendly blog… more or less. See, the thing is… (and this is exactly the kind of ‘thing’ I am talking about)… that I have this ‘thing’ where I say; “the thing is”, and then I make a joke about my ongoing, running gag in which I have a ‘thing’, and then I say what the new ‘thing’ is… did you follow that?

The other thing is… (see, I sometimes include more than one ‘thing’, which is why the picture above is so funny, plus, it also implies that I work as hard as two people… or things… to make this blog entertaining)… that I often add more than one thing… wait… I just explained that, didn’t I?

I feel sort of cheated.

I just can’t help it.

Why you really need a tripod if you are going to take pictures of the lunar eclipse…

IMG_2728Taking pictures of a far-away object in a dark sky with a zoom lens turns out to be a little trickier than I thought it would be.

IMG_2730The shutter has to stay open for a long time… like 3 or 4 seconds…

IMG_2736Okay… sorry… that one is just obscene…

IMG_2737It is really hard to hold a camera perfectly still for that long, even if you rest it on something.

IMG_2738Mollie decided to use that fact to try to move the camera in a way that would make a heart shape… you gotta love that kid!

IMG_2740But I think all these are at least as cool as a normal photo of the eclipse. I bet you can find billions of good photos of it on the internet.

IMG_2744I doubt very many people are bothering to post pictures like these… and that is why you keep coming back to my blog, right?
