About my books… part 2… I have my new hook to write another book…

a 2

As I mentioned, way down there below the crazy bone pictures and the Trump observations, in part one of this series, my newest book is, for all intents and purposes, done. That would be book four of my action/humor science fiction series, The Otherwhere Chronicles… Otherwheres Collide.

The little book that is in this picture is that book. A slightly larger version of that cover photo is in my sidebar now, and as soon as I sort out some technical glitches, it will be available for sale. Right now, the link doesn’t work.

And yes, I am still editing that novel where I am trying to turn the Disney fairy tale princess genre on its heads.

But, I write all my books in different ways. I need a hook… a gimmick… a… something… to get me motivated for starting the process. In the science fiction series, I wrote the whole thing- all four books- without ever knowing what was happening next. I made it all up as I went. Hundreds of alien and human characters, and billions of improbable situations, all just pulled out of my crack squirrel-infested cranium as I went. The murder mystery set in World War Two London, I invented the characters for the most part, but let the story unfold on its own. For the princess novel, I story-boarded the whole thing out, allowing some room for things to go their own way.

This next novel, which will be a thriller/suspense/young woman’s descent into madness and murder, has its own hook. I am starting at the end, and every other chapter will be a flashback into her life, slowly exposing how she ends up where she is. The chapters taking place in the present will move the story slowly to its conclusion, even as you learn what led to what is happening in them.

So tomorrow, I am going to start all the chapters, title them, type a few sentences, and then save them. I will go back to any chapter when it calls me to do so, and add more. I am not writing from beginning to end. I am writing it all at once, so to speak. I am very excited. Also, it is all going to take place in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I grew up, so it will have a real sense of realism.

I have a working title. The young lady is named Jinny.

The book will be called: Jinny Was.

I might even start each and every chapter with the words ‘Jinny was’… oh yeah.

Bones… part 6… special ‘sexy otter’ edition…

a 1 copy

Is that really the skeleton of a sexy otter after I did some digital mirror image magic on it?

a 1 copy 4

I am not even 100% sure it is an otter skeleton, let alone a sexy one. I keep forgetting to look at the tags when I Google skeleton images. I have seen a lot of otters. I have done posts with pictures of otters from more than one of my adventures I go on to entertain you people. I looks like an otter to me. I suppose that the skeleton may have been posed to took like it was floating on its back on the ocean or in a lake, as otters do…

But here is the original image I found…

a 1

Sure maybe that otter was posed to look like it was relaxing. But it does sort of look like it is posing for a centerfold shot. Hence the ridiculous title of this post.

Also, just so you know, I tagged this post with the term ‘sexy dead otter’ and if anyone shows up here because they found it using that search term, I am calling the police… and the SPCA… and a psychiatrist…

Dear republicans, I understand the impulses that led you to vote for a businessman and Washington outsider…

a 5

But maybe next time, you could find one that isn’t a racist, sexist, defaulting, defrauding, morally and literally bankrupt, pathological liar with a fragile ego and delusions of grandeur?

You know, one that isn’t such a dick.

Bones… part 5… special ‘sea food’ edition…

a 1

Just a simple digital mirror image effect on some fish bones…

a 2

You don’t know what you will end up with.

a 3

Especially if you double up and do two mirror effects, one right after the other.

a 4

One fish, two fish, dead fish, eeeew fish.

a 6

Okay, remember kids, sea mammals are not sea food… unless, you know, you are stuck on a life raft in the middle of the ocean for three weeks with no food, and one jumps right on your raft with you.

a 7

I am not sure what sea mammal this is… a dolphin, maybe… I keep forgetting to read the tags when I am Googeling images for this series…

a 8

I am also not sure if I could bring myself to kill and eat a dolphin, no matter how hungry I was.

a 9

I am getting off topic, as I tend to do, but the real point is that we didn’t strangle whatever sea mammal this is, and eat it raw in some sick, twisted version of sushi night, so it is okay to use its bones for some art, right? That is called… uh… recycling?

tRump does not get to have private meetings with foreign heads of state while we are paying him to work for us…

a 1

If he was acting as our president, we should get to know what he was talking to Putin about. If he was in a meeting as a private citizen, he shouldn’t have flown there in a plane our tax dollars paid for. It could’t be a business meeting. The president isn’t allowed to conduct business. If they were discussing policy issues and tRump got a decent deal, why won’t he tell us what the deal was? Were they talking about hair care products and Russian hooker urine? I still think we have the right to know.

Bones… part 4…

a 1 copy

When I was cruising Google images looking for skeleton pictures for this series, I came across this romantic pair.

a 1

So naturally, I had to do some mirror image magic on them.

a 1 copy 2

He seems to want to gaze longingly into her eye sockets…

a 1 copy 3

While she seems more interested in a bone much lower down on his anatomy… HA!

About my books… part 1…

a 1

The fourth book in my action/humor science fiction series is done… sort of. I mean, the changes of my final edit are done. I put it in my sidebar, but the link to go directly to where you can order the book seems to be having issues. It may be a problem with the publishers… or it may be because I am a computer moron, and when I went in and added the widget, I did something stupid.

Either way, I think you can get to the book. The link now just takes you to the place where I self-publish my books. You can search there. Or, you can click any of the links for my other books that actually work, and find your way from there.

This, the fourth book in the series, might not be the last one I write for the series, but it does finish up the story from the first three books.

I am still editing that novel where I take the Disney princess theme and completely turn it on its head.

Oh, and I have an idea for a new novel. I will talk about that in the next part of this series.

You handed very big powers to a very small man with a very small mind and a very small ego…

I hope you can live with yourselves… hell, I hope we can all just live.

And now, more photos of my new friend, some boats, some water, a city, and all without having to look at any more pictures of my size fifteen feet…

a 1

My new little buddy Splash.

a 2

How adorable is she?

a 3

And, once again, downtown San Diego, California.

a 4

Boats, from the age of sail to a nuclear warship.

a 5

How does all of this tie together?

a 6

Maybe you should have read my last post.

a 7

I can’t do everything around here, can I?

A small dog, some big feet, some boats, some water, and a city…

a 1

I made a new friend today. That is Splash. She is a dog. A puppy, to be more precise. And those are my size-fifteen feet.

a 2

Splash is very thoughtful, pondering the workings of nature and so on…

a 3

I mean, well, thoughtful for a puppy.

a 4

Splash now lives with our friend Becky, whom my wife has known since they were both kids. I had to meet a puppy of course, so I headed over there early this morning.

a 5

And of course Splash leaped right up to come and meet me. We all know that dogs, babies and horses love me, right? Don’t trust anyone of whom that cannot be said.

a 6

The reason I was up early on my day off is because I had to take our younger daughter, Mollie, to the airport in downtown San Diego. She is going up to see my mom, who is turning 95!!! I will be going up there for a week next month, so there will be many photos of adventures in the Bay Area, and sunsets, and San Francisco and so on.

Also, I have one more post of pictures from this morning, so see you later for that.
