I have no explanation for this one either, but it made me laugh while I was doing it.

Right now, in America, there are white men celebrating the death of Jews. They support this guy…

Monkey on a stick; (or) How to mess with the other security guards while at work…

IMG_1391

Oh yeah, you haven’t really lived until you hear a call going out over the radios for the private security officer at the South gate to go outside the guard house and see if there is a monkey climbing the pole that holds one set of our security cameras.

IMG_1393

All I needed for this little stunt was my monkey mask, an extending metal pole, and to show up a few minutes early for the shift change.

a 1

No wonder everybody at work thinks I am a little weird.

Famous men… as famous women… part 12… Elvis as Lady Gaga… #2…

a 2

I sent Lady Gaga both these images. Yes, I am still stalking celebrities on Twitter, so that I can impress my daughters when they tweet me back. And I did get to meet Eric Idle that way. Who knows…

Well, and I mean this with no disrespect to either performer… that cracks me up.

Me and Mollie’s marvelous magical macro madness… the final chapter…

a 1

That is a macro photograph of my daughter’s eye that I took. As we proved in an earlier post, she has my eyes. Ironically, that means she also has an eye for art. She has Art’s eyes. Seems like there are a lot of jokes and puns I could do here.

a 2

That is the pattern on the dress Mollie wore that day, when we were playing around with my camera.

a 3

That is Mollie’s hair.

a 4

And now, some more of the shots Mollie took. A flower.

a 5

A stained glass window.

a 6

The same window. As I said earlier, I really enjoyed following her around as she took pictures. I noticed that she took a lot of shots of things I had taken earlier, when she was doing something else. Artistic minds think alike.

a 7

I took some photos of the same window… all the rest of these pictures are ones I took.

a 8

It was an awesome day with my kid. I don’t see her as much, now that she is away at college.

Moss.

a 10

Granite.

a 11

A leaf.

a 12

Wood.

a 13

Nature is magical, and interconnected. The magic is in the little pathways that tie all things together. Like passing down a love of art to your daughter. And eyes that change color.

My marvelous magical macro madness…

a 1

Just a few shots I took while my daughter Mollie and I were playing with the macro zoom lens. A simple leaf.

a 2

It turns out that moss is really just a bunch of small plants growing really close together.

a 3

Lichen on granite.

a 4

Mollie’s necklace.

a 5

One of the old railroad ties that my wife’s aunt and uncle have as a wall in their landscaping.

a 6

A part of a rusty metal yard sculpture.

a 7

Another shot of the same thing. But this one shows how small the area of focus is when you do macro photography. The camera focused just on the very back edge of the opening. This does take a little time to get good at.

a 8

Tiny baby moss on granite. Or maybe I took that with the regular lens.

a 9

Mollie’s ear.

a 10

Granite.

a 11

That might be a little spider hiding under that leaf.

a 12

Another of those tiny flowers that grow inside bougainvillea flowers.

Having some fun at work…

a 1

See, people just aren’t expecting a security officer in a monkey mask. Oh yeah!

a 2

And I had a visit from this little guy.

a 3

I named him Irving.

My daughter, Mollie, has my eyes… and now I can prove it scientifically…

a 1

That is a photo I took of my daughter’s eye. Now, through the wonder of macro photography, I can prove that she has my eyes…

a 2

That is my eye, as taken by Mollie. Yes, mine is moister. She made me keep it open in the sun while she focused. But look at the colors, the striations. Is striation the right word? I don’t know. We both have eyes that change color, depending on the light. Sometimes they are blue, sometimes green or greenish-brown.

a 3

Mollie’s eye.

a 4

My eye. I mean, I always knew she got a lot of things from me, my art and music, my incredibly deep soul. My sense of humor. My sexy legs. But this is just plain awesome!
