My potatoes are growing!

Clearin’ off those phone philes…

Make of it what you will.

They threw away super excited guy!

Sunset for the extra point.

See, it’s funny now, when it isn’t Christmas and it is over 80 degrees in San Diego.

You better be yawning.

Super excited to have finally planted wildflowers in my multi-level planter.

In fact, I might have been too excited.

I got a little carried away with the seeds. It is a jungle out there.

What a long, strange trip it’s been… part 6… (or); Snow and sand and whatnot…

Animal tracks in the snow. I think that is a bunny.

Bird tracks in the sand. Is it just me, or does that middle one look like it is raised out of the sand instead of sunk into it???

I guess that was a bird?

I know that was a bird.

And that was obviously a bird.

And I am 100% sure that is a bird because I flipped it. Yes, I gave the finger and then stuck my hand in the snow. I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention.

Water working on sandstone over a very long time.

That looks like it was caused by dripping water, but there was nothing above that.

It looks like it was formed by waves.

I really don’t get how hollows form underneath like that, but I guess the sandstone was softer there, and wind helped the water?

That must be it.

A slightly darker strata of rock at a weird angle.

But life happens, even in the harshest desert.

It somehow holds on.

Through the heat and the cold.

The music of romance, in which we get to watch a video, into which I sneakily snuck some more photos of my recent trip through the Southwest, while listening to famous love songs clipped from a silly commercial I did on my podcast, and featuring the musical stylings of Hootenanny P. Flubberbiscuits, the Grim Reaper, and Jimmy the crack squirrel… part 3… the final chapter…

We finish this series with our very own Jimmy the crack squirrel, who lives in my head, singing; Feel Like Makin’ Love, I’m In The Mood For Love, It Had To Be You, My Girl, and Signed Sealed And Delivered.

What a long, strange trip it’s been… part 3… (or); Well, I’m-a standin’ on the corner in Winslow, Arizona… weird holes in the desert… funny cookies… lonely snowmen… wild asses… fun with cacti… and a dinosaur is not happy about the gas prices…. and stuff…

No, really, that is me a few days ago, and I was indeed standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, after getting some gas. See, I took a different route back to San Diego from New Mexico.

And I got some great photos. No, that isn’t the weird holes in the desert I was talking about, although you can see a few of them around that big hole.

We had some fun decorating cookies, because not only did one of my daughters start nursing college, the other one had a birthday.

Now, those are the weird holes I was talking about. There were thousands of them, in these cool sandstone formations at a rest area near Winslow. I plan to do some posts about them later, and maybe Photoshop some weird stuff with them.

Tell me that isn’t a lonely snowman.

And tell me that T-Rex in Gila Bend isn’t upset about the soaring gasoline prices. Just so you know, Gila is pronounced ‘heella’, like in the gilla monsters.

See, wild asses… or are they donkeys… or burros???… near Phoenix.

Yup, yet another lonely snowman.

Fun with cacti? You bet.

Wait… is the whole mountain private property? Flagstaff Arizona, where I stayed the night.

Arizona, the land of the big sky and the big cacti.
