How to stalk famous people on Twitter…

I only joined Twitter to stalk celebrities and get them to Tweet me so my older daughter would think I’m cool… is that irony?… Now that I have managed to sucker… uh… lure… so many famous people into my collection, I will give you some tips so you can play this game too.

First, question that they really are who they say they are. Twitter has a system where they put a blue check mark by the real celebrities. Tell them you don’t see it. Famous people hate thinking they might not still be famous. That is how I first got Eric Idle to Tweet me.

Next, just keep typing clever stuff to them until they reply just to shut you the hell up. That worked with a few people. I got William Shatner that way.

But now that I have Dana Carvey following me on Twitter… yeah… you read that right… I have upped my game. I am now using Photoshop to impress the stars.

Right now I am stalking George Takei, Mr. Sulu from the original Star Trek. I just keep bombarding him with images. He will be assimilated…

Wiener roast in space…

See… that’s funny because he’s gay… oh, my! To boldly go where quite a few other men have gone before…

And always play to their egos.

So far I only have one of the Top Gear guys in my collection, but it is only a matter of time.

Wil Wheaton was in the second Star Trek series, and he is now on The Big Bang Theory… and he likes my book… yay~!

I am seriously going after Mr. Hugh Laurie. I like that guy. He did a comedy series with Stephen Fry back in the day called ‘A bit of Fry and Laurie. He was also doctor Greg House. My older daughter, Jessica, and I bonded over that show. This picture is funny because he was complaining about leaf blowers, and I switched House’s cane for one.

That one… there’s a long story… I guess Mr. Laurie is on an island somewhere and the water was so clear he swore he saw olives floating by… so… uh… yeah… how can he not end up Tweeting me… sooner or later.

Oh, my last idea is simple. Type a little comment into the text box… and remember, it has to be less than 140 letters… that says: ‘It would be faster to tweet me ‘hi’ than it would be to do the Twitter version of a restraining order’. Then cut, copy and paste that into every celebrity Twitter page you can find.

Holy moley… I really am an author…

It is just now hitting me for the first time. I really am an author. Oh, I know I haven’t made much money. But there are copies of my books floating around out there. Some of them in countries far across the sea. It just seems so unreal.

I just received another book that has my words in it. It is an anthology of short stories. I will be hyping it in the coming weeks and adding it to the sidebar. I did a funny little story about three little pigs in a heavy metal band. Well… it starts off funny…

I couldn’t help laying out the four books I have either written in full or done a story in…

And don’t forget that the second book in the science fiction series is in the works.

I want to thank all of you who have read any of my books. If you liked the sci-fi book, there is still time to do a review wherever you got your copy. I might use your words on the back cover of book two if you do it soon enough.

Rubar the Reaver…

Here is a character sketch from my upcoming action/comedy science fiction novel, the second in my ‘The Otherwhere Chronicles’ series. His name is Rubar. He is a leader of a band of Reaver mercenaries. He comes from a high gravity world, and not only is he very strong, but he is the master of many unarmed combat styles from all over the universe.

Too bad our reluctant hero, Arthur, the sarcastic, lazy, not-so-young janitor on an alien space station, has to challenge him to a hand to hand combat duel…

So about my science fiction novel…

No, this is not another of my shameless attempts to get you to buy the first book of my awesomely funny, chock-full of action and adventure, space pirates, weird aliens and weirder humans science fiction series… available by simply clicking on that little picture of the book over there at the top of my sidebar in paperback for a very reasonable price or on some e-readers for an absurdly low price… This is more along the lines of a fact-gathering post for my own information.

You may recall that I was inordinately proud of the fact that there are now copies of my book floating around in England, France, Poland and New Zealand. I only know that because the people who bought those copies told me about it. There is no way for me to track where the copies are being sent.

So if you are one of the few people on this planet who did buy the book, do me a huge favor. Tell me where you live. Not the address… just the general geographical area… the state or province or even just the country you live in. I am just doing this so I can tell if I am reaching a universal audience.

I know this blog is read all over the world, and that just tickles me. I love looking at that map in the WordPress stats. I pretend I am playing a game of Risk and am trying to conquer the entire globe. So far I am doing pretty well. Still no hits from China or Mongolia, and a few of the ex Soviet republics and a handful of countries in Africa and South America are still alluding my grasp, but my map is pretty dang colorful.

On a last note to those of you who read my book, please go to the place where you ordered it and write a review if you wouldn’t mind. That would really help me out. Unless you didn’t like it… then please don’t trouble yourself.

One more picture…

… from the children’s book I am getting ready to publish.

But that is the last one. I can’t give all the milk away for free or nobody will buy the cow… or monkey, as the case may be.

And hey, did I mention that my sweet younger daughter came up with an awesome idea as part of her silver award project for Girl Scouts? She got a bunch of brightly colored water bottles and filled them with little toys, stickers, pencils, glow sticks and other fun things, and stuck in a birthday card. Then she donated them to a homeless shelter so they can give them out to little homeless kids on their birthdays.

But that isn’t all. She has been going around to preschools and church groups and other Girl Scout troops and showing them how to make the birthday bottles, and telling them to teach other people how to do it. So this idea might just spread out across the country.

How awesome are my kids?
