They gave up on it because it wasn’t horrible enough. The main group that refused to vote for it is called the ‘Freedom Caucus’, a bunch of evil asshats who were voted into office by the old Tea Party. They were offered, in an attempt to make it horrible enough, taking away your medical coverage for things like emergency room visits, cheaper medicine, prenatal care, maternity care, mental health care, and pediatric care.
But no… still not evil enough for those bridge trolls.
That is why the health care bill failed to pass.
Not because a very small number of republicans realized how bad this would be for people.
