So this first mystery place I visited had a creepy old castle. Think more Transylvania than Disneyland. But there were cool birds there. You can tell bad stuff happened to people here.

Okay, fine, Club 33 is just a fancy restaurant that is hidden inside Disneyland in the rooms above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but it is something that not everyone knows about, and is rather exclusive… so I have been milking these posts for quite awhile…

Ring that bell… hidden in a recessed doorway near the pirate quarter. You will see some stunning chandeliers. That table was in the family home in the original Mary Poppins movie. I mean, it was a pretty awesome place. They … Continue reading

Yeah, my kid is a nurse!

So of course we had a nurse-themed party to celebrate. You rock, Mollie! All those years of schooling, and now, well, she just got her first job, and she is going to be working as an emergency room nurse. And … Continue reading

So what is the secret to timing a trip on the Bahia Belle, a Mississippi paddlewheel-style boat that cruises around Mission Bay in San Diego? Hitting the sunset, that’s what.

That is the Bahia Belle after we debarked. But we did time the sunset part just right. For San Diego, this isn’t a very impressive sunset. But I was drinking rum-and-cokes, so I didn’t worry about it. It is still … Continue reading

And speaking about rock carving and painting, and crack squirrels… and love…

I asked my wife if we could order pizza, and then asked her to tell the pizza people to put extra little tables… those things that keep the box lid off your cheese… in the box. And she didn’t even … Continue reading

You can be all-art-side-of-the brain and have crack squirrels living in your head, or you can have a life… but you can’t have it both ways…

Because you see a stupid rock… And you remember that rotary engraving/carving tool you got for Christmas… And you think, yeah, I know, I have a million other art projects I am working on… But it would be fun to … Continue reading

Because what I really needed was another type of art project to get sucked into…

It started off harmlessly enough. For Christmas, I asked for this cool little engraver pen I kept seeing ads for, and some paint pens. I was going to use them on my wood carving stuff that I already do. And … Continue reading
