My little girl… and her new husband…

a 1

Jessica and Jason are now married. It was a magical day and an awesome weekend.

a 2

Everything was perfect.

a 3

The sun was shining.

a 4

The flowers were blooming.

a 5

The pants stump was wearing his best belt.

a 6

Much cornhole was played.

a 7

It couldn’t have gone more perfectly.

a 8

Mollie, Jessica’s sister, was a beautiful maid of honor, and her boyfriend, Dashawn, was so much help. They looked so good that this lady…

a 9

… the official wedding photographer, wants to use them as models for photo shoot to advertise her business.

Many more photos to come.

My older daughter is now married… but I still have pictures of the party the night before…

a 1

I am a little hung over, and my voice is hoarse. The wedding was awesome. But we need to finish up the photos of the big party the night before the wedding. There is my younger daughter, Mollie. Yes, she is holding little Olivia, the girl I babysit and take to the zoo.

a 2

There are Olivia’s parents. Remember, Joey was friends with my wife since elementary school. Remember also that Stacey is pregnant… with twins.

a 3

There is Big Johnny… who was also a friend of my wife’s… and Joey, back in the day, before the three of them went to U C Berkeley, which is how I ended up meeting my wife and them.

a 4

Big Johnny is married to Eva, and there she is, with William, our godson. You have seen many pictures of them on our trips to the Bay Area and here in San Diego too. There is our old friend Mark, too.

a 5

And speaking of old friends, there is Chris, my buddy that I grew up with, and his lovely wife, Teresa. A lot of people came a long way to share this special weekend.

a 6

Once again, I recommend turning any wedding into a whole weekend-long event. People travel to spend time with you, not just see a wedding where everyone is too busy to talk. Then the bride and groom rush off. Not here. We are having another party today at the big house we rented. Everybody who was able has rented houses to share, or gotten hotel rooms. It just keeps going. That is why I am so behind on these pictures. I haven’t even gottn to the wedding yet, and soon people will be showing up here start the festivities all over again.

a 7

Oh, and the giant Jenga game was a hit, as was the cornhole game, all hand-made, oh yeah. Jenga is fun to play drunk, just so you know.

a 8

That picture cracks me up. That is my mom, talking with my mother-in-law. Why does that remind me of my childhood?

a 9

Awwwwwww…

a 10

I have a ton of pictures to download from the wedding, but I have to start drinking again soon, so I don’t know when I will get them up here. I rocked the wedding, in case you wondered. My toast was a hit, as was the daddy-daughter dance, done to a song I made up and used to sing to Jessica when she was little.

Maybe I will post today’s party pictures first, and save the actual wedding for the big finish.

a 11

There is Andrew, Jason and Jessica’s best friend since college days, standing by Jessica… Andrew performed the marriage. He got ordained online so he could do it. He was awesome. That is his boyfriend, Tim, sitting at the table. And there is my little girl, keeping it classy. Just so you know, Jessica doesn’t really drink often… but when she does, she does it right.

Some pictures…

a 1

These are the last pictures I took around the house we rented for the wedding party to stay in for my daughter’s wedding… which is today… before the huge party we threw last night… which I have many pictures of to share… when I can get to it.

a 2

Yeah, the front door.

a 3

Even the driveway is a floral wonderland.

a 4

Yup.

a 5

And we found a nice little alcove to set up the cornhole game in. I didn’t make that name up… Google it.

a 6

So Jessica, and Jason, the couple that are getting married today, have the same initials. Jessica invented the official wedding logo… which, you may recall from earlier posts, we stuck onto the cornhole boards… that we made ourselves. I stained the wood and put 7 coats of varnish on them.

a 7

Can you say: family heirloom? Also, this is a fun game to play after a few beers.

My daughter is getting married today… but this post is still all about me… HA!

a 1

I am falling behind on these posts. These pictures are all from yesterday morning, when I made our younger daughter, Mollie, follow me around the rental house and take pictures of me looking… uh… Captain Morganie???

a 2

Since we took these funny pictures, we have had the wedding rehearsal, at my wife’s aunt and uncle’s house where the wedding will take place…

a 3

And then we came back to this house, and had a raging party… of which I have many pictures… that will take us days to get through.

a 4

I don’t know what that one is supposed to be… do rich people spend a lot of time looking at themselves in mirrors???

a 5

But it was a fun way to spend a few minutes.

a 6

What, exactly, is the best pose for this room?

a 7

That is the question.

a 8

I never did figure it out.

a 9

When in doubt… sexy pose!

a 10

Oh, yeah.

a 11

I did the best I could with what I have.

a 12

Ummmm… okay?

a 13

But the swords are still my favorite decorations.

Oh yeah, we found the swords…

a 11

My daughter, Jessica… who is getting married tomorrow… and I, having some fun with some swords we found in the rental house. I knew rich people had swords.

Holy crap… look at the house my daughter rented for the family to live in during the wedding weekend!!! part 2

a 1

It is early in the morning, and I am sitting in the living room of the house we rented for the immediate family to live in during the weekend-long festivities.

a 2

These are the rest of the photos I took yesterday, when the house was still pretty empty.

a 3

There has been a steady trickle of people coming into the house. More are coming today.

a 4

Not to mention all the people who will be moving into other rental houses and hotels all around town.

a 5

The town, for those of you who don’t remember, is called Fallbrook. It is about 20 miles North of San Diego.

a 6

It is famous for avocados.

a 7

As I said before, this is not one of those weddings where people fly in and don’t get to spend any time with the bride and groom, and everyone in the two wedding families is too busy to chat. No, this is a whole weekend of love… and drinking…

a 8

The hardest part for me will be running around asking people who wants to be shown on this blog and who doesn’t, and then sorting the pictures accordingly.

a 9

But tomorrow, my little girl is getting married.

Holy crap… look at the house my daughter rented for the family to live in during the wedding weekend!!!

a 1

There is Jason, my soon-to-be son-in-law, looking very Louis the 14th.

a 2

And this isn’t where everybody will be staying, just the immediate family.

a 3

There is Grandma Carol, my wife’s mother. She isn’t even staying here, but she helped us bring a car load of stuff over.

a 4

Yeah, not too shabby.

a 5

It is still pretty empty. More people will be showing up tomorrow.

a 6

But I could get used to this… maybe after they make some of my books into movies…

a 7

Maybe…

a 8

There is Jessica and Jason together. The camera focused on the lamps instead of them, but I sort of like that picture anyway.

a 9

Okay, in a while, I will share some pictures of the outside of the house.

While I am busy with my daughter’s wedding, I leave you with this to think about…

a 1

The famous statue of the thinker… making a stinker… I will probably still be posting stuff, but I am not sure how that will work. We rented a big house near my wife’s aunt and uncle’s place, where the wedding is happening… in two days. It is going to be a weekend-long party… hence, the $1,400.00 worth of booze in our car that I posted a picture of weeks ago.

People are flying in from all over the country.  Usually, the wedding couple and family are so busy at a wedding that nobody gets to spend much time with them. We… and mostly I mean Jessica, got around that by having people stay for the entire weekend, so we can party for three days.

I am sure that I am going to have hundreds of awesome pictures for you, and now that I have my laptop, I can post things without waiting until I return home after things like this. On the other hand, I am going to be seeing friends and family, and trying to be a good host, and I am the bride’s father. So I will probably be pretty busy… and drunk.

So, let’s just see what happens, shall we?

No… I’m not actually selling these shirts… but if I was, would you wear one?
