No, it isn’t Big Foot, or even Regular-sized Foot. It is my daughter’s boyfriend, Ben, helping me to learn how to use my night vision video binoculars.
Also, I should really change the date on the video tag.

Okay, I didn’t really get that close to her.

But I have seen her and the Royal Family.

It was on her birthday, and as you can see, her husband was still alive.

As was she, obviously.

It was an exciting day, as she inspected the household guard units.

All joking aside, I will miss her.

I have been using the Seek app on my phone, the one that identifies plants and animals, and there are a lot of kinds of moss.

We rented a small place on a little river, just a short drive from Mount Hood. Here is a view of the mountain from a lake we explored.

Gratuitous zoom lens!

There, that one has my daughter’ boyfriend fishing. You’re welcome.

This is the Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood. It was used as the Overlook Hotel in exterior shots in the movie “The Shining.” It was also where Mollie and I spent fifteen minutes on the floor in the lobby snuggling with Heidi, the Saint Bernard mountain rescue dog. More photos of her later.

I took that one from the car, but the sun reflections work.

A view from the mountain. That lake is down there somewhere.

Yup, there it is.

I knew I got a shot of the lake from this side.

See you soon!
Now, please sit back and enjoy the fish, courtesy of the splendid Japanese Gardens in Portland.

It looks like I spent some time relaxing.

And so did Mollie. In my chair.

Our lime tree in action!

So this is a weird one. I used the Seek app on my phone to identify a dead grasshopper in the parking lot at work. Seek is an app that identifies animals and plants. It wasn’t until I was getting ready to delete the photo that I noticed something strange. There is a small cricket of some sort nuzzling the neck of the other insect. Either it is sucking out the juices, or it is mourning its large friend. Either way…

It looks like the sun came up and went down a few times.

Good old sun!

And something somewhere burned.

I don’t know what it was or exactly where it was.

But I am pretty sure it burned.
And I even used, aside from ancient model paints I found in my art supplies, some old watercolor paints as well…
