I think I got some awesome pictures of birds today, but the fact is that, when you are at the San Diego zoo, birds are probably the least exciting animals you will see… sort of… so I am just going to share a bunch of pictures of birds without boring you with a bunch of words…
But man, I do love that crazy zoom lens…
Okay, this should be awesome. I took little miss Olivia to the zoo… and this time, I remembered to bring the zoom lens… so I have dozens of pictures of animals at the San Diego zoo, and this might take a while…
But, just so you know, I am going to do this in reverse order of how awesome I think the animals are… so you have to wait for the end of this series to see the BABY GORILLA!!!
Yeah, I did some babysitting yesterday…
I think I found out where Donald Trump grows his hair…
But I always love spending time with Olivia…
That kid is just amazing.

She is ready to get a babysitting job of her own…
She does this thing now where she pushes a little chair back and forth across the kitchen floor…
She looks a little like an old lady with a walker… ha!
Well, I need to get going now…
Because I am babysitting again today… in like an hour…

I am a writer, and consider myself to be fairly good with words… but there are times when words aren’t enough…
During our Mother’s Day outing to the San Diego zoo, we went to the see the gorillas. I was hoping to get some pictures of the new baby, but the big males were out… this is one reason I need to go back again. That is one of the teen males, taking a stroll.
All of a sudden, one of the big silver back Silver Backs started heading towards me.
He came and sat down right at the corner of two of the windows. Turning your back is not considered rude to a male gorilla. He came close to us, which showed he wanted to be friendly. But adult male gorillas are very careful about eye contact, because too much eye contact is considered rude. So he was being both friendly and polite.
He sat there with such dignity. I can’t describe it. Occasionally he would turn his head and glance into my eyes, just for a brief moment. I couldn’t even take a photo of that. It would have been a violation of this moment. I felt such a bonding that I was moved almost to tears. So were all the other people lucky enough to be there at that time.
To anyone who kills any animal for fun or sport… all I can say is… fuck you… just fuck you… (sorry, I know I just violated my family-friendly blog rule)…
Then he lay down to take a nap… and believe me… I could relate to that too…

Or, you can tell me you want to be a cowboy… or an alien… or a superhero… or whatever… (If you want examples of this, type: ‘making your dreams come true’ in the search bar, and check out that series of posts for ideas)… or, you can always send me pictures of your ex-spouse or a real person you hate, and tell me to mess with them… I’m easy…
All I know is that I have a gift… and free time… and Photoshop… and a weird imagination… and I am willing to use all of it on your face…
What you do with the pictures after that is up to you… as long as I can post them here too… HA!
Technically, an orangutan might be an ape, not a monkey…
But either way… I need to go back to the zoo again… with my telephoto lens…
Because I love that place…
We saw baby monkeys at the zoo… I like monkeys… I like monkeys so much, I wrote and illustrated a book for children called: I Like Monkeys… available right over there—> in my sidebar… if you click the picture of the book…
Momma is keeping an eye on the little guy… dad doesn’t give… (or fling)… a crap… Ironically, I am going to be babysitting for the next two days… (I don’t know why that is ironic, but it must be… somehow…)…
I could have watched the little guy scamper around all day long…
That would… hey… whoa… cut that out… bad monkeys!!! Not in front of the kids!!!
Crazy monkeys…
… you might as well put my face on there too… right?
And sure… it might hurt a little… at first… but then you are left with a memory that will never go away… or maybe just regret… about poor decision making and stupid life choices… HA!
And if any of you do decide to get a tattoo about my blog, I would totally do a post about that… just sayin’…
