My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read the first post…. part 7…

a 1

She is either getting ready to travel through time and space… or calling a Constable.

a 2

Yes, she really is that happy and sweet… all the time…

a 3

HA! I’m not even bothering with telling you where the pictures were taken anymore.

a 4

The start of our adventure.

a 5

Mollie and my mom, on a horse-drawn carriage, going up the hill to Neuschwanstein castle…

a 6

… and then one of the horses farted.

a 7

Oh yeah.

a 8

Fish and chips… at a place that Shakespeare used to drink at.

a 9

Okay… I have no idea what that is.

My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read the first post…. part 6…

***Special ‘guess where this photo was taken’ edition***

a 1

Yes, I know, I am still showing new pictures from our trip to Europe two years ago, now that Mollie is old enough for my wife to let her on the blog. There she is, making friends… but where? And that guy needs to point his cod piece away from my then-16-year-old daughter!

a 2

Okay, I just threw that one in because it is me petting a cute dog… but you can still guess where it was taken. Also, I am sure I shared that one, back when I did the original story of our trip… which I still think you should go back and look at, because my stories and observations are funny.

a 3

You should be able to guess where that is… was… and that’s no lyin’!

a 4

Me and the Mollusk and a fairy tale castle. I may have shared this idea before, but the closest you can come to the magic of doing a new, awesome thing for the first time is to do it with your kids, and watch their eyes and their smiles.

a 5

Yeah, good luck guessing where that is… but that house was built in like the 1400 or 1500’s.

a 6

And we had fun playing in the yard.

a 7

That is a tough one, but the stone wall over to the right might be a clue!

a 8

Well, yeah, it is a church of some sort… but which one?

a 9

That pose is called: ‘lion, rampant’, at least in heraldry. If you figure out where that is, you win the biggest prize of all… my astonishment.

My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read the first post…. part 5…

a 1

One of the most beautiful girls in the world in one of the most beautiful places in the world… Mollie in St. Chapelle, Paris.

a 2

Lunch at the Louvre… say that five times fast.

a 3

Mocking the statuary… an old family tradition!

a 4

Mollie stops and smells the flowers… because she is my kid.

a 5

Paris pastries… say that five times fast.

a 6

Who doesn’t love castles?

a 7

Or lakes?

a 8

Rothenberg, Germany. Best preserved Middle-ages town anywhere.

a 9

You really ought to go there.

My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read the first post…. part 4…

a 1

My daughter, at the Beatles museum in Liverpool… which is both awesome and sort of corny… the museum, I mean. No, I am still not going through the entire explanation for this series of posts. If you don’t want the back story, don’t read the first one. If you want the whole Europe trip story, with funny anecdotes, go back to the summer of 2015, and read the entire adventure of our travels in Europe.

a 2

No, that isn’t the place the Beatles first performed, it is a recreation.

a 4

They did have a lot of real memorabilia… and it is worth visiting.

a 3

And the gift shop sells tentacles, so you can pull weeds in an octopus’s garden.

a 5

Mollie, like me, will go to any length to get the perfect picture… like of the river Seine as the sun sets.

a 6

And her smile is nowhere near as ambiguous as the Mona Lisa’s smile.

a 7

Like me, she enjoys having fun with statues.

a 8

Teenagers… is she taking a picture of Paris from the Eiffel Tower… or is it a selfie?

a 9

And like me, she likes her cheese.

My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read the first post…. part 3…

a 2Mollie and my mom, as we enjoyed high tea in the crypts beneath St. Paul’s Cathedral.

a 1

After tea, we attended a service in the cathedral. We got to sit up in the chairs behind the alter, where the high and mighty sit. My mom has connections.

a 3

My mom, who is well on her way to 100-years-old, getting a Mollie hug. Mollie gives the best hugs. They are in the London Eye.

a 4

In front of Selfridge’s department store. I actually used our visit there for research for that murder mystery novel I wrote, that took place in World War Two London… available over there—-> in my sidebar, if you click the book cover pictures, they are magic links!

a 5

My traveling buddy!

a 6

Mollie is fun to travel with… or hang out with… or do anything with.

a 7

Enjoying the wind in her face at the Liverpool docks, after a visit to the Beatles museum, and right before we saw another movie scene being filmed, this time from a Meryl Streep movie. If you had any idea how many ships were  sunk near this spot by Nazi bombs, mines or torpedoes, it would blow your mind.

a 8

Mollie, my mom, and I, walking in Paris.

a 9

Because, you know… Paris!

I figured out what is weird about my back-pain meds…

a 1

Mu head feels like it is in two places at once. They gave me an anti-anxiety med for my back pain, which is supposed to work ad a muscle relaxer. I don’t know if it is helping my back at all, but here is the thing… (hello, thing)… it slows down the message pulses that your brain sends to your body. I tired to turn my body while doing some simple task. My brain told my body to stop when it was facing the way I wanted to be facing, but my body didn’t get the message right away. I was turned past where I had wanted to stop turning. This means that, if you lean over, you might keep going.

Here is one other thing about this drug. I feel slightly nauseous all the time. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but an anti-anxiety med that makes you feel barfy is counterproductive. Nothing induces anxiety like the feeling that you might blow chunks at any moment.

But my back does feel a little better, even though this is the worst drug combination ever. The heat pads are doing most of the work. That and time. I mean, it isn’t even an enjoyable high, like most good pain meds are. So, there you go.

My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read the first post…. part 2…

a 1

My daughter, Mollie, on the London Eye. Once again, I am not going to explain when these pictures were taken, because I did that in the first post of the series.

a 2

Then again, I also said I wouldn’t post them in any particular order, since they came from at least two cameras and three cell phones… and yet, there we are, sitting on the steps behind the palace of Versailles…

a 3

And there we are waiting to get in to the palace…

a 4

And there we are in the hall of mirrors inside the palace…

a 5

And in the palace again…

a 6

And again. I would like to suggest you go back to 2015 and read all about this trip in order, because my commentary is freekin’ hilarious.

a 7

That must be London… pretty sure the palace didn’t have a fish and chips room.

a 8

And… okay, I don’t remember where that was taken.

a 9

But I do remember that Mollie was the only one who was comfortable standing on the glass floor of the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower.

My daughter Mollie… and I am only going to give the back story on this once, so read this post…. part 1…

a 1

Okay, I will try to make this simple, because I am on pain meds for my back. That is Mollie, our younger daughter. Now that she is 18, her mom says she can be on the blog. But she didn’t specifically say that I could only show pictures taken after Mollie turned 18. Ha! I was on Facebook, and it asked me if I wanted to share some memories from our 2015 trip to Europe. And that got me thinking. I did a whole bunch of posts about that trip, but I had to leave Mollie out, and my wife, who still doesn’t want to be on the blog.

But that means I have dozens of photos of our trip that I couldn’t post before. If you want to read the whole story of the trip… and it was awesome, we saw the Queen of England and the Royal Family, and saw two movie scenes being filmed…. One was from a James Bond movie… and had a lot of cool adventures… you should use the search bar or scroll down… or use the handy calendar thing in the sidebar.

So I am posting, in no particular order, photos of Mollie, taken on two cameras and three cell phones, over the course of two weeks. This does two things. One, I get to relive the trip. And two, you get to see what a beautiful, smart, strong, young woman my daughter is. That is her, trying on a hat in Paris.

a 2

Me and Mollie… Mollie and I… on the Eiffel Tower.

a 3

Mollie, my mom, and I, in front of Notre Dame.

a 4

Mollie, getting some culture.

a 5

The Old Globe, in London.

a 6

It is almost impossible to take a bad picture of that kid.

a 7

She actually is as sweet as she looks like she might be.

a 8

Neuschwanstein Castle.

a 9

London selfie. That must be from her phone.

a 10

And one random picture of me, when I realized the train from Paris to Germany was going over two hundred miles per hour. And just so you know, while I was going through the pictures of our trip, I came up with my next post series idea… I am going to post every selfie I ever took of me in my whole life… Oh yeah! So enjoy these while you can.

It just occurred to me…

Now that Mollie, our younger daughter, is 18, and my wife says she can appear on the blog, that means I can go back and show old pictures of her… right?

a 1

What brought this up is that on Facebook, I was asked if I wanted to share an old memory… and that memory is of our trip to Europe two summers ago.

a 1 2

Which should mean that I can go back and share pictures I couldn’t share before… probably. There is my mom in the background, and Mollie and I closer up. I had to cut my wife out, who was sitting to Mollie’s right, because she srill doesn’t want to be on the blog. We are on our way across the pond!

a 2

I may have already shared that one, but it’s me… so I will share it again. These are in no particular order, That is the hotel we stayed at in Munich.

a 3

My mom, Mollie, and I, at Neuschwanstein castle.

a 4

That is me petting a German horse near the castle. I know I shared this one… but… horsies!!!

a 5

Me and Mollie in Rothenburg.

a 7

Mollie, trying her very first sip of beer… in the same beer hall where Hitler gave his first speeches to the fledgling Nazi party in Munich.

a 8

She liked the water better.

a 9

Rothenburg is awesome. I have lots of these, and I can probably find more in the old files, so let me know if you like the idea of seeing more of our adventures in Europe.

Awwwwwwwwwwww…

There is my friend, Joey, holding my buddy, Olivia, holding one of the new twins.

b 2

I swiped that photo form their Facebook. But I can’t wait to get to play with the twins as they get older. And I am sure that Olivia and I will have some fun adventures to give mommy and daddy a break.
