I swear, these are the last mirror images of birds.

There is something about the feathers and the colors.

The symmetry is awesome.

The double mirror image worked well on this one.

Might have worked on that one, but we will never know.

Are you sick of this series yet?

The crack squirrels in my head will not let go.

I will try to move on from animals…

Right after I do some insects… and maybe monkeys.

Just enjoy the pretty colors…

That is how art works; you either like it, or you don’t…

Coincidentally, that is also how Art works. HA!

There are four basic ways to do this mirror image thing. There is side to side, from the left…

And there is side to side from the bottom…

Alternatively, you can go top to bottom…

Or, you can choose bottom to top.
Where you decide to cut and copy part of the photo makes a huge difference in the final product.

Don’t get me wrong, I hate a lot of things about my new job as a private security officer at an exclusive, private community. But the view from my little guard houses at the two gates isn’t bad.

The guard houses are overhung with bougainvillea flowers, and there is a fountain at each of them. This one is shaped like a big pot, with water splashing up in the middle.

In fact, the little guard houses are probably nicer than the homes of most people in some countries.
Maybe if they spent a little less money on landscaping and a little more on updating the computer system and other equipment, I could almost be happy there… if I wasn’t naturally lazy and predisposed towards being a malcontent…

Well, I can’t say I blame you for saying that, but if I get rid of the crack squirrels, I would be like everybody else. I can’t risk it. Oh, and I call that one… wait for it… ‘the love snake.’ I know, it sounds dirty, but there is a heart in the middle.

I’m really sorry, but I just love the mirror image thing.

I like deciding where to make the cut for sticking them back together after flipping the new, copied part. I love seeing how they come out. Sometimes I move the line just a little and start over, to make it a little more interesting.

I am going to call that one ‘diamond back’, even though that isn’t a diamondback rattlesnake. That should be a logo.

I like that one.

But the same snake can be mirrored in so many ways.

Snake scales just work with this.

I cut the eye in two for that one.

But not for that one, not exactly.

I guess if that first one is a love snake, this one, eating a frog, is a hate snake.

I thought about doing another mirror on both of these, making them symmetrical in all directions, but that would have been a lot of doomed frogs.

Still trying to find the perfect images to do this mirror-image thing with.

Snakes end up being very artistic when you do this to them.

I mean, they aren’t as cute as the dog pictures.

But I still like them.

Is that a butterfly?

A pair of scaled pliers?

No.

It sure the heck ain’t.

My job as a private security officer manning one of the gatehouses at an exclusive private community keeps me on my toes.

A lady in a mini van took the entrance turn a little fast, and ended up plowing up some ice plant as her vehicle crossed over some of our landscaping.

She went in between a sign and a rather sturdy tree, and missed a car that was stopped for a left turn by mere inches.

And then, between calls to dispatch our roving patrol cars to remove rattlesnakes from various properties, the radio lit up with calls about an overturned car on a street near the seventh hole of the full-sized private golf course.

All I can say about this is that, if you are parking your car on a steep hill, set the freekin’ parking brake… especially if you are going to leave your mother-in-law in the vehicle.

Poor people continue to try to infiltrate our borders by air… which is weird, because I looked it up, and the cheapest balloon rides are like 500 dollars.

Those poor people want to get in so bad that they are spending their lottery ticket money just to get over the fences.

But it was a nice sunset.

Just for the record, I mock the poor because I am one of them.

Yes, that is a dog. A cute little dog. The same dog who is in this next picture…

These might be my two favorite pictures from this whole series so far.

Because I can take one photo of a dog with his head tilted slightly, and with a little mirror image magic, do all of these things.

It just depends where I do the mirror effect on the picture.

See what I mean?
And let’s not forget about those mean dogs…

They deserve some love too.

And one bonus wolf, just for the heck of it…
