A bunch of flowers for those of you still dealing with snow… part 5…

a-1

While we look at these lovely flower pictures that I took when Olivia and I were at the park the other day, can we talk about real stuff?

a-2

Well, not real stuff, but blog stuff.

a-3

I mentioned in a post recently that WordPress seems to be dying.

a-4

Everybody I ask says their stats are lower than last year. I get lots of likes, but way fewer comments than I used to.

a-5

Hey, I know it isn’t me… or my blog… I haven’t become less interesting.

a-6

Do people actually come to our blogs anymore? Or are they just commenting on individual posts without seeing even our main blog pages.

a-7

I do know that a lot of people that I really liked have left the blogging world, or only stop by now and then.

a-8

Are we wasting our time here? Are we the last rats on a sinking ship?

a-9

Just something to think about.

I’ve noticed mine are lower, but that’s because I post a lot less than I used to. I also don’t post photography any more due to not being able to lift my camera often.

I try to visit as often as I can.

  2. Hmmm… My stats are through the roof. But I never got that many likes. And yes, the comments are drying up. I think the key is, only do it if it’s fun. When it starts to be a chore, stop.

I think our stats drop when we don’t visit other blogs as much and don’t find new blogs to follow. I haven’t been reading (and posting, actually) as much, and my stats dropped somewhat. But I noticed that I’ve almost stopped seeing you on other blogs I follow, and if you have actually cut down on the reading and commenting, that could really hurt your stats, because that’s how new people can find you. That’s how I found you, by the way.
And I’m not complaining, because if there’s one blog where I definitely see you a lot, it’s mine. 🙂
