I forget if that is my second or third sunrise that morning… the sun kept going back behind clouds and fog and mountains and then coming back up again.
I do know that this part of California makes me think of Ireland or maybe the Scottish Highlands… you know… where my wee bit o’ land is that makes me a Scottish Lord… speaking about which, my packet of papers with my title and deed and my official ‘Lord’ ID card arrived in the mail… remind me to post pictures of those.
Facing West from where I took the pictures above I could still see the ocean.
But watching the sun backlight the mountains and the clouds was awesome.
I never know if photographs actually capture the beauty of a scene.
I also never know how many pictures of one view to post… just because I zoom in a little do you really need to see both pictures of a little promontory with a lighthouse on it?
Or is the not-zoomed-in one enough. I mean, I do go through the photos of all my adventures before I post and get rid of blurry ones, or ones that are too repetitive. That is the beauty of the digital camera, right?
Anyway, driving further South from Monterey you end up going through Big Sur and the California coastal forests with lots of huge trees… including the majestic redwoods…
And, of course, rivers and streams and creeks that if you walk out onto the bridges you can take even more photos of…

I love these kinds of pics!
get ready for a ride then
Yep, I’m right. I have a good recollection of the redwood forest. I really should go see it again….take my kids with me…..
Love the freakin red woods
They are indeed awesome!
yup
Hey, that’s a river! I thought there was a drought in CA, and here is a perfectly good river.
It is usually much fuller.
I love the photo of the fog bank up against the trees and mountain.
Fog is our friend
Very nice. Want to see promontories in Big Sur now.
yeah you do
Bring it
