See, that all sounded way less funny in Latin… which is why there were very few stand up comics in the Roman Empire.
There was Mel Brook’s “History of the World.” I thought Gregory Hines, strolling through the Roman Forum in a toga, with a boom box on his shoulder, blasting out “Funky Town,” was pretty funny.
