You say you want a revolution… well, you know… we all want to change the WordPress… oh wait… no we don’t!!! Once again, WordPress has taken it upon itself to make changes. Changes we didn’t ask for… changes most of us, from what I am hearing, do not like.
So once again I am taking it upon myself to lead a revolution.
Is it going to help?
No…
Is it going to make them back down and put things back the way they were?
No…
But it will make us all feel better… we can all use my blog to let off a little steam as I do a bunch of posts about it… and I can use all the funny Photoshop pictures that I made all the other times they pulled this crap on us…

I’ve created a monster.
you did? Does my dad know???
We should throw some WordPress widget boxes into the Boston Harbor.
and get fined for littering?
I don’t think WordPress cares one way or the other. If you go to the WordPress.com announcement about all of these new and wonderful features, it has (as of now) 572 likes and 24 comments, almost all of them giving the new features rave reviews. I commented twice, once last night before I went to bed and once this morning. Both are “awaiting moderation.” In the first one, I put a link back to my post yesterday, so maybe that’s why it was not approved. In my second one, I removed the link. But that is also still awaiting moderation. It seems that WordPress is not really interested in negative feedback.
Here’s the link to the WordPress announcement, in case you’re interested: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/12/09/stats-navigation-enhancements/
And here’s my comment that remains to be moderated and will likely never see the light of day:
I hate to be contrary, but I don’t think this is an improvement at all. It displays less information and it requires you to have to scroll and scroll to be able to see what was more easily viewed on the old stats page. This is like the “Beep Beep Boop” for stats. Seriously?
If you want to have an easy to use “stats lite” page with basic information, a sort of high level “stats at a glance” page, that’s fine. But for those of us who want to take a deeper dive, keep the old stats page. Or better yet, give us the ability to download our own stats into an Excel file or a CSV format so that those of us who are data wonks can run our own reports, create our own graphs and charts, do our own data analytics. I’d be a very happy camper. But until you do that, give me a stats page with meat on it.
I just noticed that yours was still not out there. I wonder how many others are not singing their praises “in moderation”.
are we being censored by the wordpress overlords????
I was worried my comment wasn’t strong enough, and I guess I was right since it got through!
It pays to not get too worked up and take it personally… but screw that… HA!
I think the sarcasm in your comment was totally missed.
see… I tried to fix that whole sarcasm thing…
It finally got posted…the second one, the one without the link back to my blog.
because you are a well-spoken rabble-rouser
I know this isn’t going to help. But I grew up in Berkeley in the 60’s and 70’s… protests might not change the world, but they are in my blood.
And even right now — as of last night, anyway — there are protests going on in the streets of Berkeley. But I’m afraid our protests are falling upon deaf ears at WordPress.
They should spend more time pressing words and less pressing their hands over their ears… HA!
Reblogged this on galesmind and commented:
Count me in!
LOL, so is this a revolt or are we just going to be revolting? Either way I guess I’m in. Revolt away!
We can do both at the same time. I already used the title: ‘I am revolting, and you can be too’ on an earlier string of posts about other changes they made.
Ditto!
oh yeah…
My personal opinion is – all that’s going to happen is that WordPress will again try to “fix” the problem by making even more changes that we’ll all hate. They must have an awful lot of people sitting around with absolutely nothing better to do.
I think that really is the main reason they do this.
Bring it on…..
Part; A
ha
Now that you’ve gotten through part; A,
Here is Part; B?
to B or not to B, that is the question.
And you talk of me starting something within; i don’t know is on third base…
