The streets of San Francisco… (or): My wife’s new car has a sunroof that opens, so I can stick my camera out of the top like a periscope on a submarine and take cool pictures…

a 1 a 1Oh man, I love this. I would really like to stand up and stick my head out like the commander of a tank, but this will do… and that might just be illegal…

Well, I have been posting the pictures of our latest trip to the Bay Area in reverse order, and we are finally at the end… which is really the beginning… well, not really, the first day there was that funeral I told you about… but this was the day we went to San Francisco and saw my little buddy, Willie.

a 1 a 3But I am still saving picture of Willie for last, so…

Right now, you get random pictures of the tall buildings as we were driving back to my mom’s house on the other side of the bay.

a 1 a 5This is so much better than trying to take pictures out of the side windows… except for the fact that you can’t really tell where the camera is aiming.

a 1 a 6Although I guess that doesn’t matter with these pictures.

a 1 a 7

I doubt these will win any awards.

a 1 a 8Some of them are sort of boring.

a 1 a 9

But I like the ones where I pointed the camera up into the air. Oh, I did also take a picture of this church…

a 1 a 10It is sort of famous in San Francisco… because it looks like a giant agitator from a really big washing machine…

a 1 a 11So, of course, that is what people call it… ‘The Agitator’…

a 1 a 12And that one… well, I just like the beautiful, old brick church with the retro, round apartment tower behind it.

My old schools were all made of the same kind of brick as the old church!

Ha! Great pictures – love the sunroof. It reminds me of one particularly sunny summer day at the north toll booths of the New Jersey Turnpike. I was in the right hand truck lane in a long line creeping ahead to pay. I could see the whole plaza of cars lined up to my left and was watching to amuse myself. There was a State Trooper standing at the truck toll booth doing the same thing as I was -watching. As we watched a top-down convertible with two beautiful young women pulled to the end of the line about 5 booths over. A few seconds later a black Mercedes full of young university aged boys pulled up beside the girls in the next lane. The sunroof of the Mercedes popped open and two guys stood up and started waving and hooting at the girls. The girls started laughing as the lines began to move. The Mercedes accelerated ahead and kept going, smashing into the car ahead and dumping the boys in the sunroof on their faces on the roof. As I moved ahead to pay my toll, the last thing I saw was the State Trooper, who had seen everything, striding across the plaza towards the cars. Ha!

Church looks like a dildo. Yeah, I said it.

Also, please stop talking about your periscope. I know you were in the navy and all, but I draw the line at seamen.
