Be a part of history, and help set the record for the most comments on a WordPress blog post…

It started as a joke. I just thought it would be fun to see how many comments we could get on one silly post. But somehow, it took off… there are now 27,969 comments.

WordPress is still unable or unwilling to tell us what the actual record for number of comments is, but we haven’t found any that have that many… and the ones we did find were posts where someone said something so obnoxious or terrifyingly stupid that the post went viral and people showed up just to call the author an idiot.

We did ours with love.

We have had poetry writing contests.

We have played word games.

We have drunken reunion parties.

Sometimes people go in there and just have conversations with themselves… like when Trent tried to seduce himself… that was hilarious…

I think you should join in.

My suggestion is that you read a few of the comments, find someone you think is funny, and reply to some old comment that they made. The odds are that you will make a new friend.

Or at least leave a comment to me so you can be part of this weird social media experiment.

Here is a link that will take you directly to the comment box on that post:

I hope that works… If not, there is a link to the post over there on the top of the sidebar. And it really is more fun to go to the post and scroll through some of the comments. Someday I might actually organize them and put them into a book. Because there is some crazy stuff down there.

It’s like the post that won’t die! haha I can’t believe that it can’t be verified when there is an actual link that leads us all to its unarguable glory. Oh wait, I guess even this is arguable. 😉 I’m going to head over and take a brief look. It’s like a train wreck. I can’t walk away.

What do you mean “tried” to seduce myself? It totally worked.
