Post from the past…

Here is another of my earliest posts. I like to recycle these to remind myself of how far I have come. This one was titled ‘130 people can’t be wrong, can they?’. Yeah… 130 people had visited my blog, and I was thrilled… oh, those were the days…

————————————————–

130 hits, can you believe it? I honestly don’t know if that means 130 people at least stopped by, or that 10 people accidentally opened this site 13 times each… (hey, did I just do math?)… but I couldn’t be more thrilled! At this rate I will have a million hits in just… a few months… right?

But I really do need your help. I need tips to get by in this electronic jungle. You blog experts… (after all, you found this blog, didn’t you?)… must have ideas on how to stimulate readership… (that sounded sort of dirty, didn’t it?… No, I will not do full frontal nudity, although if you look really closely at that picture down below, the one with me in the red shirt with the long hair, you can see my nipple… but that was more along the lines of a wardrobe malfunction, which I may have invented, by the way)…

I know there is a button on my ‘dashboard’ that says I can ‘publicize’ this blog, but I have no idea what that means. I am afraid to click on it until I have some vague idea what it does.

The good people at WordPress also say I can increase my numbers by reading other people’s blogs, saying I really like it, getting them to read my blog, and, if they like it, we can then establish ‘links’ of some sort. Frankly, this sounds way too much like dating, but if I have to, I will.

In short, I need your help to survive in this cold blogscape…

For only minutes a day, less than you spend waiting in line at Starbucks, you can help keep a brain like mine usefully occupied and off the streets. Please, give generously…

Arthur B., executive co-creator of the S.P.C.L.C.   (the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Logically Challenged)…

Seriously, folks, I want this blog to be interactive. I want comments, suggestions, ideas, etc… Like I have this crazy idea that if you send me photos, (through Facebook, or directly, or however that would work)… then I could play with them in Photoshop, you know, give you extra eyes, or put your face into other things, or whatever you want, and then post them to the blog… Just an idea, let me know if you like it…

Now, I leave you with this rather peculiar view into my soul… When I feel depressed, I destroy famous landmarks in Photoshop… I don’t know why, either. When I am happy, I just put my face in them, which seems to work better on monuments that have faces of their own…

OK, you get the idea… oh wait, one more…

That is my friend Chris, still in the sinking boat, which is his boat, by the way… No, I did not really sink his boat, (although I did nearly flip his bigger, more expensive boat over in choppy water near Alcatraz when he let me be the captain)… But now you see why I love Photoshop… now stop gawking and throw me a line…

  1. It’s good to occasionally wallow in a post from the past.

  2. Well, this repost came in good time for me. Previously a blogger I am now a WordPress gal and understand your past needs for wordpress knowledge. Any advice now that your a veteran? Besides on how to destroy beautiful architecture on photoshop…I suck at photoshop! 🙂

    • I am still a computer moron… but congrats on the marriage and the new novel… I am sending my second sci-fi novel to the publishers in a few days, and just got a children’s book with original art published, and I am writing a world war two murder mystery right here on the blog. Just make yourself at home, poke around, comment to lots of people… especially me… but most of all, scroll back through a few weeks of my old posts before you are really sure this is a place you want to hang around… ha!

  3. Wow. all this is so artsy.
