How you make me feel… Part 10…

To be quite honest, you often make me feel a little inadequate. I don’t mean that in a bad way. But many of you are doing really important things on your blogs. You are doing topics that matter. You are opening up discussions on things that need to be brought out in the open.

Rape and molestation, mental illness, political manipulation and corruption, loneliness and depression, alcohol and drug dependence, illness and death. I admire you for your strength. I respect you for your commitment. It takes guts to dig deep within yourselves to pull out these painful memories and share them with others. To give people a safe place to discuss these issues and know that they are not alone, that is a true service to humanity.

Hey, I just do a silly little humor blog. Not that I don’t occasionally talk about something with some depth, but it certainly isn’t my main focus. So keep on doing what you do. And I will continue to try to make you smile, even on your darkest days. It is the least I can do.

And never let it be said that I didn’t do the least I could do.

  1. The writers of the domestic violence and mental illness blogs ( i have one of each) need someone to make us laugh sometimes, in order that life is tolerable enough for us to continue and still write our blogs. So, in a way you are contributing to the mental illness blogs, in the shadows.
As you see I have ventured out of my dark blogness today πŸ™‚
I do that sometimes and other times I let my bunny hop around my bedroom, take pictures of him and then post them.
Nice to meet you. I think I connected to you from another blog. I think I started with Charley Priest, then another and then yours. I like following the bread trail by checking out the blogs that people follow, or the followers of the blogs i follow. That was a lot of words… maybe too much wine for me tonight. Is there a rule against drinking and blogging?
Oh! I may have my next post title there !

Making us smile is no small feat Art! You’re a treasure!

  3. Silly humor is important. Very. Most of us need it for a true laugh.

Yes, I am certainly doing some important things, like writing about that robot and his dog, or the kid that got fat eating an elephant, or the dude that forgot everybody’s name, or the cave people living in central park. Earth-shattering profound stuff. I think I need to get weirder, or just better. One will win.

Your sense of humor takes me away from the sadness. I never know what to expect, but I know it will be zany. Thank you.

Humour is VERY important. If I didn’t laugh or have a sense of humour I’d be dead by now. Laughter is great medicine πŸ˜€

  7. You are just as important, you give us comic relief and take us out of the yuck. That’s huge!
