All my life I have thought I was pretty good at taking pictures… I am an artist after all… but I never had a good camera… until now…
Turns out there is something of a learning curve, but Mollie and I are going to learn together… some quality father/daughter time doing something we both love to do.
We took a lot of pictures during the time we were both at my mom’s house in the Bay Area for Christmas. I will try not to overwhelm you… but man, just playing with a real camera is a blast!
You can set it to just point and shoot…or do all kinds of fancy shutter speed stuff and other things I know nothing about. Fortunately, my other daughter has a boyfriend who does know all about it… oh yeah…
These are my very first pictures, just sort of playing around, seeing what the camera could do. And we did get a nice zoom lens too… so look forward to that. Now I want a macro lens for the close up shots… but this seems to take some pretty good pictures if I do say so myself.
I am so excited about what’s to come…

Wow, that macro lens (is that what it’s called) really does a nice job on those close up shots.
that is the regular lens… saving up for the macro to do like spider webs with dew drops on them and so on
Impessive that you can take close-ups like that with the regular lens.

Wow, that is some good stuff… we have a pretty good camera but not the skill to use it all that well. Sigh, this makes me want next Christmas… right now, we have the cold but none of the benefits.

Oh yeah, I agree wholeheartedly. I too got a new camera for Christmas and am so looking forward to getting those better shots. The problem is that it is so easy to press that button again and again you end up with an awful lot of sorting to do! Good luck in your endeavors, you have made a good start.
