You know how it is… sometimes there are situations where we, as bloggers, just feel we need to resort to sarcasm. But there is no ‘sarcasm font’… believe me… I looked for it… so, after years of study and laboratory testing, here is my idea; from now on, when we are resorting to sarcasm, we just put this symbol ‘<>’ on either end of a sarcastic statement.
Let me show you how this would look… Oh, wait, you say you never ever need to resort to sarcasm? <>Yeah, I just bet you don’t!<>
Once again, you’re welcome, world.

So I typed in sarcasm font as you suggested & guess what? The marks didn’t show up!

Love it!
yeah… well
Not needed, as a Brit everything we say is sarcastic so just take it as a given
But if you say you are being sarcastic in a sarcastic tone of voice… then…
Then it loses all it’s subtlety
The key to sarcasm is for people who don’t get it to think “huh?”
My brother bumped into someone I went to school with and said “Jon…I don’t remember him much except everything he said was sarcastic”
We Americans do not do subtle…
Lol. No. I love you for it
Yay
Whoa. No one ever thought of a way to indicate sarcasm via text before! /sarcasm
😉
I would make a sarcastic reply… But it would disappear
HA!
Yup
uh-huh
Indeed
absolutely
Positively
undoubtedly
“This was quite a wonderful post,” he said sarcastically. Did that work?
I could see it, but it doesn’t scream ‘sarcasm’…
Okay, now about this: SARCASM?
HA…
This is a brilliant idea. Now I won’t have to use wonka so much.
well.. uh… it turns out there is a catch… I did a follow up post about it.
I think it’s pretty clear when I’m being sarcastic, so I probably don’t need special symbols.
yeah… right… (ha)
it doesn’t work in the comment boxes anyway… as my new post explains
You do know Art that this is a part fo coding? For instance if you put a “b” inside the first one and “/b” inside the second one, you get bold? Like this, see?
And having just tried it , because it is part of coding – it disappears. I did as you suggested with “” before and after the first sentence above and it just disappears. You will have to come up with another idea. Sorry.
Apparently it also disappears when in quotes – it was between those quotes and is gine again – very elusive symbols. In other words “” can be seen but put them together such as “”, they disappear, see?
Whoops, everything between them disappears as well – that is cool. There is a whole piece of sentence that is missing in tey last comment because it was between the two symbols. ha! Cool!
what?
holy moley… you are right… you can’t use the symbols in comments… but they showed up in the post just fine…
no… I don’t… are you saying that my is vanishing? what about … with a space between them?
I am missing something… I didn’t say put “” anywhere… I said put there
I have no idea what that means… I think you just said my idea is bold… what the heck is faux coding???
Those brackets automatically hide code on most pages. I do like the bold text idea.
Well, my idea always fall apart somewhere… not always this fast, but..
I usually use one I saw on TV once. Me? Sarcastic? Never(!)
That works too, I guess…
Oh man… you know I’m all about using new tools and all. And, well… SARCASM. how did I ever live without this? Gahahaha!
I am pleased to be of help.
You have utterly stunned me with this brilliant idea. I want to crawl into your head and camp out and roast marshmallows, like In Being John Malkovich or something.
It is exactly like being him… but with crack squirrels thrown in…
Ah darn it I had the “” above but they don’t show up…what color is a crack squirrel, at any rate? Red or gray
I have pictures of them around here… a lot of pictures…
I am never sarcastic. Except to you. Can you just consider this a blanket use of ?
no
Rats!
did I make this too hard for you?
Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh shit, family blog!
ha
might use it ta (c wot i did there)
HA
thank you….. now I got to kick in my sarcastic streak wait, wait…. I’m not often sarcastic. 😦
but there will come a time… oh yes… there will…
