I just realized that the post I did this morning… no, let me correct that… the old post that I reposted this morning… was a two-part post… so here is the second part… which, once again, I did in the very early days of my blog… like less than a month after starting it…
This post was called:
The funny thing about Jessica is…
(And it isn’t going to make any sense unless you read the first part first)
———————————-
Only a day or two before Jessica gave me the advice about how you, my readers, don’t care about learning about my family and personal life, she told me something wonderful. She said she had been keeping up with my blog… You have no idea how much I appreciated learning this fact, because I had been trying very hard not to constantly pressure her to read it… (Mostly because she keeps telling me not to)…
During this same conversation, she casually mentioned that Mollie now has more pictures in my blog than her. She said it as a joke, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she didn’t mean it, if you see what I mean. So, if I understand her correctly, she thinks that people have no interest in pictures of my personal life, but that there should be more pictures of her in there… Just for fairness and balance, no doubt… See, she is so much like me, it hurts.
The truth is, she is such a beautiful girl that I could start a blog of just pictures of her, and it would be a hit. It was also be just a bit creepy…
But she is a lot like me…
(Jess, you didn’t expect that picture of you at an arcade to come back and bite you on the ass, did you?… This is why your mother and I keep telling you to be careful of what you put on Facebook)…
She is smart…
She loves animals… (Except for ostriches and emus and… never mind)…
(No spinning in that dress, Jessica)…
OK, I am not fashionable, just so you know… but whatever…
She is direct and honest…
(Guys, that is warm and caring, not sultry and alluring, so stay with me)…
Any man would count himself lucky to have two such daughters…
I mean, really…
Seriously…
Many of these pictures were taken by Jessica’s boyfriend, Jason. He is a very talented photographer, among other things. He is kind, sensitive, artistic, smart, fun to be around, and he treats her well… Not that he has any choice on that last part. If she wasn’t dating him, I would ask him out myself… (Not really, but you get the idea)…
I think he knows that I really like him, but it is hard to tell, what with the generation gap and all that. Besides, I tend to tell people that I like them by giving them the full ‘Arthur Browne Show’, and I have been told… (by my family)… that that puts people off. I haven’t yet figured out why me opening up my soul in an avalanche of showing-off confuses people, but it does, I guess… Can’t they see that when I get all up in their faces it means I love them enough to care about their opinions?… (of how clever I am)… I am sharing my inner self, and exposing my throat, my soft underbelly…(eeew)… I am leaving my ego open to their tender mercies… so to speak.
Maybe I should break the ‘Arthur Browne Show’ down into a Power Point presentation…
Or this blog…???…

They are absolutely STUNNING. You are a very lucky man to have daughters… I know because I have one too 🙂
I know you do
You have beautiful girls – they must take after their mother!
Everybody says that…
What a lovely family you have, I fear my family photos are everyone looking miserable 😉
You’re obviously good at the parenting thing
It is one thing I really did do well.
That’s quite modest of you, what about your art, your writing, your sushi 😀
my word!
And you passed your artistry to your kids, if Jessica is instrumental.
They got both the best sides of each of us…
The girls are lovely and the photos of them are really well done. Except, maybe, that arcade one that, you know, came back to bite her you know where.
Now the NSA has a file of her…
Woah, your daughters are both beautiful Art!
Thanks… I helped with that.
I can tell. 😉
HA!
Ha– I love that she was miffed about lack of photos. That sounds like my friend Sars, when she reads my stories about Shleisel. She’s ready to see a blog about me and her, ha. Don’t they know this is all about US?! 😉
People don’t really get us at all… they think they do… but we are so much more than that…
Terrific sequel! Your daughters are lovely.
They are lovely… and sweet… thanks.
Dude, you are a lucky lucky man.
Luck was a lady last night… or something…
My God, Art, your daughters share many features – I bet we could correctly assume those beautiful features came from their Mom (no unshaven cheeks or sunglasses, so they’re not your features) and we can safely add a few more details to the composite we are building of your wife. Ha! Jess wil be so proud of you Dad, that your republished pictures of her in a Groucho mask and shooting at the arcade. The others I am sure she approves of.
Great repost, PMAO. Thanks from a new reader who hadn’t seen the original.
I am just making your job easier.
Jason’s the one who designed you book cover, right?
Exactly.
That means they have been dating for about as long as I have had a blog.
