Stop scrolling!

You have found what you are looking for. There is no need to keep searching endlessly through the reader topic pages of WordPress any longer. Because your search is over. You have found what you are looking for.

How presumptuous of me to presume that I know what you are looking for, I can hear you thinking to yourself… yes, my hearing is that good… But let me take a wild guess as to what you were hoping to find here, and let’s see if I am right.

You want to find a blog to follow that makes you laugh. You want to see different things all the time. You want to be surprised every time the reader tells you there is a new post from this person. You want to actually find yourself wondering during the day what this person is going to come up with next.

You like music and art and poetry and stories, but that isn’t enough for you. You want funny pictures and cutting commentary. You want to feel like you relate to most of it, but you don’t want it to be too sticky sweet. You don’t want to be written down to or condescended at.

You want this blog to make fun of things and people, but not in a mean-spirited way… unless it is Dick Cheney and then the gloves can come off…

You want to be amused, but not in an overly simplified way. You still want to think. You want to be challenged. You want to see things in new ways and from new perspectives. You want to feel listened to, and have your comments responded to. You want to feel as if you make a contribution and your suggestions are taken seriously.

You want to join in crazy comment dialogues that sometimes exceed 1,000 comments and feel like you are part of a community, a family. You want to meet new people who are bright and talented and interesting.

You want to feel like you belong.

Well, I have all that. I know that makes me sound conceited. But if I wasn’t sure that I could deliver on my promise, would I be making this public declaration? So come on over. Give it a try. What do you have to lose?

Instead of spending hours scrolling down the random reader topic pages, you could spend hours scrolling down my random blog posts. I promise you that if you do, you will find things that make you laugh, make you think, make you wonder what the heck is wrong with this pouringmyartout guy. You would already be home instead of wandering in the wilderness looking for a place to stay.

I hope to see you soon.

Nono, this blog is the first place I looked.
Everyone knows I’ won’t find what I’m looking for until I get to the last place I look.

Except Bono. He doesn’t know that at all.

  12. How about you offer true friendship? 🙂
