You should meet my friend Le Clown.
I have only been following him for about a month. I should warn you that he is at least as weird as me… and he is Canadian.
How can I describe this guy? When you pop into his blog you never know if you are going to get hit in the face with the cream pie of humor, or kicked in the groin with the hob-nail boot of reality. The guy can bring you to tears either way, and that is a rare gift.
He has the ability to find the funny side of almost any topic. But when he writes about real things it is just off the charts. He can wrench his heart out and hand it to you. And make you put it in your own chest and feel whatever it is that he is feeling. It is a messy and moving thing to have happen to you.
Now I have a confession to make. If you do go and visit his blog today, you have to promise not just to read today’s post.
Why?
Because I wrote today’s post.
(That isn’t my confession, by the way)
If I followed the whole thing correctly, a while ago Le Clown was suffering from a serious back problem, so he started having guest bloggers fill in for him. Somehow, even though I am a new guy, he decided to trust me with the honor of being a guest blogger. I hope I lived up the expectations that his followers have, and so far the response seems to be positive.
So now we get to the confession part; I timed this ‘sharing the love’ post so that it would coincide with my guest post on his blog. I did it in part because I thought it would be funny, and in part because I am that shameless and I will do anything to make myself get noticed.
So do not fall for my shoddy little trick. Go and visit his blog.

But read some of his stuff too. And the other guest bloggers. And I guess, as long as you are there, you might as well read my post about the time Le Clown came to visit me in San Diego.

You make it sound like being a Canadian is a bad thing! I think I doth protest!
I was just giving my American readers a heads up… they are suspicious of people from far off lands. And many of them can’t find Canada on a map.
Fantastic! Well done; that is quite a feat to be let into his inner sircle after so little a time…Le Clown has great taste!
Oh stop. I am getting all verklempt.
I got that once; antibiotics for a month, but it never really goes away.
sigh
That was my homage to you and the obvious joke…..I thought you’d be proud..
Oh, I was… am…
Yeah, I’m really feeling it….
You should be.
I’m feeling the pain of not having spotted my misspelling of circle in my first comment! You can change that if you want?
No… I need to take you down a peg to make myself feel smarter…
It’s ok, I knew you’d say no, which is why I hid an old fish somewhere in your house!
It was delicious.
………you win this round…….
Oh yeah.
Wait, is it wrong to like both your guest post AND your shameless promotion of your guest post?
How can it be wrong when it feels so right? Ha!!!
