Call them ‘trailer trash’, or ‘white trash’, or ‘hillbillies’ or ‘rednecks’ or whatever you want to call them… there is a large part of Donald Trump’s base of voters out there… that have kids… lots of kids… and those kids… they need Barbies too… just sayin’, ya’ll…
Okay, I know that the American Girls Doll Company makes historical era-themed dolls already, I have daughters, remember? But the Martha Washington Barbie picture was just fun to do.
Forget Princess Barbie… I say we promote her to Queen!
Mother Teresa Barbie… because… why the h… uh… heck not?
Okay… I admit that my idea of coming up with new Barbie dolls that better reflect the modern world, and would be better role models for young girls to play with, has taken some weird turns… even for me and my cranium full of crack squirrels… and I freely admit also that the Hulk isn’t really part of ‘real’ life… but still… I would love to see some kid open her birthday present and pull this doll out… just to see the expression on everybody’s faces.
That is my little cousin, Clark. You might remember him from the pictures I shared of last Christmas at my mom’s house in the Bay Area. He is getting really big.
I took these at my brother’s house, at the Super Bowl party… right after the romantic weekend my wife and I spent at that awesome hotel, and the surprise party we all threw her for her birthday… which explains why there were still family members from far away floating around San Diego.
So these really are the last photos of that weekend… just so you know…
That is Jason… the guy who just got engaged to my older daughter, in case you forgot about that.
Not everybody is interested in appearing in my blog, so these are all you get.
So… I guess it’s back to the silly Barbie pictures… at least until the crack squirrels living in my head move on to something else… And remember, this is an interactive blog… so if you have some idea for the Barbie posts… some kind of Barbie doll that you really want to see… let me know.
The wordpress topic/reader/tag/wall/pages thingies are still there… good old wordpress is just up to its usual antics of making random changes that nobody wants or likes. You now need to hit the tags list button, and your list of topics pops back up. They just decided that we would all be better off if we had to click one more time to find something that we want to use… because that totally makes sense…
So, I just finished catching up on the wordpress sites I follow, you know, like I do, and to get there, I always hit the ‘reader’ button. When I finished, I looked to the left to find the tag-reader-wall things… I don’t know what they are called… you know, when we do a post and we add tags, like ‘humor’ or ‘art’, these are those pages… or walls… or whatever… where those tags send them.
Well, I no longer have a list of my favorite wall/pages/whatevers… there is now a thing called ‘discover’ that has sites we bloggers supposedly like… but where the hell are the tags we add taking us?
Am I just being a computer moron again? Help me out, people!!!
I like the wall things. I go to the humor wall and the art wall and make random clever comments on posts there, and often lure unsuspecting victims… uh… I mean… new followers… back to my secret lair. I know, I was complaining that the humor wall was often just filled with mostly one or two stupid blog sites that just reposted the same thing over and over again… but seriously, is wordpress trying to drive all of us away?
Okay… I must admit that this one wasn’t my idea… it was suggested to me… but I think there might be a market for this Barbie-Loompa doll… maybe… because life is like a box of chocolate-making mutants…
No, ‘abused by a husband or boyfriend Barbie’ isn’t supposed to be funny. The thing is… and this is a thing you should know if you plan to hang around here… I sometimes sneak things into my posts that are designed to make you think about stuff. And I would be willing to bet that most parents, no matter how much they love their daughters, don’t ever get around to the discussion about what to do if they end up in an abusive relationship. You might tell them about the birds and the bees, and drugs, and drinking and driving, and date rape, and lots of other scary things that are hard to talk to your kids about, but this issue probably isn’t one you ever think to talk to them about.
Tell me I’m wrong. I want to be wrong. I know we talked to our daughters about it. If you did, or plan to, let me know. It will help me feel better. If I’m not wrong… and it isn’t too late… go talk to your daughter… or maybe wait until she finishes with the potty training…
