It is always tricky to take good photos of things that won’t stop moving. Birds are a challenge. So are active kids. As for this guy, I suggest giving him less coffee… or getting a good tranquilizer gun.

No, there is no reason to panic. You were just too far away from your subject. Next time, move closer, or have them move closer… or use the zoom lens.
