Well, we are really moving through this new game of mine where you have to impress us with your ability to come up with clever and amusing names for my works of art with me… Art… in them. I think today’s postings will take us all the way through the 4th month of my blog… which I have been doing for more than two years… HA!
You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Now name this…
Just a little background on this picture. We are talking true multimedia here. First I drew myself as a pirate. Then I cut me out with an exacto knife and inked the outline. (Hint, if you ink the outline first, you will never cut it out so carefully that the outer edges are even, so do them after you cut the picture out)… I colored it in with colored pencils. But then I used brown t-shirt paint… which is nice and thick… to do my hair.
I then took a piece of thick black paper for the background. I took a magazine with some pictures of pirate weapons and cut out the swords, knives, daggers and the musket. Some of those background things you might remember from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. The treasure chest with pirate flag, the skull with a cutlass through it, and the skull in a pirate hat are all from some small brochure thing I found in my art supplies. The other skulls I did by hand with thick, white t-shirt paint. I also added some thick, red blood.
I glued all those elements on the black paper. Then I glued the pirate me down. I took gold t-shirt paint and made all the gold lines on the paper giving a rough feel of vast piles of gold, glopping it on in a few places. But then I dribbled some glue around and added gold and silver glitter from my art supplies. I also used the gold t-shirt paint to highlight the buttons on my pirate coat, the round earring, and the belt buckle.
Last, I glued some cut out pistols and knives to my waist, and then glued a little piece of fancy gold trim over them like a golden sash.

Dark Art!
good one
Pirates of the Carbine
hmmmmmmmmmmm
The title refers to that long gun in the foreground.
The modern usage of the word carbine tends to mean shortened rifles…
I was using ARTistic license.

Maybe I should give you your license back. You don’t look like me, anyways.
I just had to get a new one… the first one where I don’t have long hair…. ever…
