This piece of art… or Art… is based on a real life event. That is my friend Chris standing in his boat. And yes, I did almost flip that boat over… while it was occupied by both my family and his family. In my defense, he kept telling me to speed up. And then we hit that weird series of multi directional waves and washes that form in front of Alcatraz island when the Pacific Ocean is shooting large swells under the Golden Gate Bridge and into the San Francisco bay. They sort of tend to pile up in front of ‘The Rock’ and mix with the bay currents and do weird stuff. And if you hit it going too fast at the wrong angle it can be dangerous… like hitting a really big pot hole in a car… and you can’t really see it until it is too late…
But you don’t have to worry about all that. You just have to come up with a clever name for this picture.
