Dang it, Bill Cosby!

I was going through my crazy long list of crack squirrel induced post ideas, and I saw a single line in my barely discernible handwriting that said: I work clean, not blue, like Bill Cosby. Apparently the squirrels in my head wanted me to take a crack… (ha, that was a crack squirrel joke)… at doing a post where I brag about the fact that I try to keep my content more or less family friendly. I do not rely on shock value humor. Okay, I do occasionally tag some of my posts as ‘free porn’ or ‘big boobs’… but that is more of a running gag and a shameless way of generating a few more views in my stats while simultaneously doing the public a service by distracting perverts and porn addicts, if only momentarily, from their search for free porn and big boobs.

Anyway, now that all this stuff about Bill Cosby is coming out, I have decided not to use him as my ‘working clean’ role model.

I think it’s very sad what is being done to his reputation. No charges have been filed against him but people are condemning him anyway. There were protests when he appeared here in Canada for 3 dates with people shouting “Shame on You!” to attendees.

    • you think that many people coming forward is a coincidence? Or that women just join in for fun?

    • I mean join the accusations… not… the other thing

While I think there may be a “grain” of truth to these accusations – I think all the women who are piling on now are just seeking their “15 minutes of fame.” I know this may sound cruel coming from another woman & a rape survivor to boot – but I just think there are too many all coming forward, after so many years . . . I know not everyone has the courage to report an attack right away, but I just think at least 1 or 2 of these women would have come forward if there was enough to this. This may make me very unpopular, but women have to take some responsibility too.

        • some of them started the process… and were told that going against someone that rich and popular was a no win situation. And you think being famous for this kind of thing seems like a good deal to a bunch of grandmothers?

I think my point is – he’s never been convicted of any of this, what happened to presumed innocent until proven guilty? I was strongly discouraged from reporting my rape too – it happened in the building where I worked & my boss definitely did not want the publicity! And we fought about it right up to the moment the police walked through the door! I could have lost my job, my reputation & embarrassed my mother who got me the job in the first place. As it was, I was taking a chance of my parents finding out what happened to me by reporting it – they never did in the end because he was convicted on so many other counts they didn’t require me to testify, but it was my description that helped seal his fate. My family still doesn’t know – but I was prepared for them to know in order to keep this guy from doing it to someone else. And that was my main motivation – I couldn’t keep quiet & allow him to continue attacking other women.

            • I see what you are saying… there is a topping point though. If one or 2 or 3 people come forward it is a little different than this many. And he will still get his day in court. Fame has it’s downside.

  2. Sheesh, I know what you mean. Seems like we are getting kind of thin on good public role models. I hope Tom Hanks doesn’t let me down. Pretty soon you might be all we have left.

I’m not the least bit surprised; however, I saw an interview with him and his wife on PBS and he seemed like he could have dementia now. Karma man.
