But for some reason, whilst wracking my brain for Christmas gift ideas for my eldest daughter and her boyfriend, this thought popped into my crack squirrel-ravaged mind:
A gift box containing scented candles, and a romantic music CD.
Hey… Don’t judge me… You know how much I love babies. Yes, I know this is a sick and twisted idea and is wrong on so many levels… But… Babies!!!

OMG! I just hint to my daughter I would like a grandchild before I die, but I don’t supply the ingredients for the deed! How can you think of your little girl like that? I know I hope my daughter finds someone who is nice, kind, caring, (maybe even rich) & a great lover, but I’m her mother. I want what’s best for her.
sorry… also spammed
Aren’t you missing something? First comes Love, then comes MARRIAGE, then comes the baby in the baby carriage! Best not to push the issue Arthur. I’m with Elyse. hospital volunteer. Orphanage volunteer. Get a kitten.
I borrow babies all the time.
*Shaking head*
Yup
HA! I have no children of my own, and I am super jealous of my baby sis, who is away visiting her first grand-child. I want to hold that little baby girl so much!! Pictures just don’t cut it…
Babies love me.
We don’t have kids either.
Borrow or rent some
No thank. I was a “Nanny” for 8 years when I was younger. That was enough for me..lol
Aw
Hmm, this helps solve the mystery. My father used to tell me, “If it weren’t for the Holy Trojans, you wouldn’t be here.”
Another mystery solved thanks to me
No. Just no, Art. You might be able to volunteer at a hospital to hold and comfort babies, though. Seriously. Your daughter will thank you too.
Ok fine
Why is it that parents are so against kids having babies for so long and then suddenly will stoop to anything for those same kids to HAVE babies. I wish they’d make up their minds.
Once they live on their own and have a job, all bets are off.
Yes, your influence needs to be implanted on the next generation
My weirdness must live on…
My aunt did that to her sister and her own daughter. Of course she didn’t tell them, even though she knew neither of them are the type to terminate, and her sister was warned to never have children again or it could kill her.
Wait… What?
Yeah. She was a real nasty piece of work. There wasn’t a lot of people went to her funeral either
I can sort of imagine.
It’s sad in a way that she was so twisted that she felt she had to be like that. It was because she had red hair and covered in freckles – literally, covered – my nan, her mum, hated her and made no secret about it. But she was like that to all members of the family. When one of her twins died, she asked the other one why couldn’t it have been her who died. I banned her from my house after she completely ignored my kids. So I can see where my aunt got it from.
Wow
Yep. Families can be twisted things
True enough
whoa Al. I am sorry. I wonder what happened to make her so miserable. Your nan I mean….
Don’t ask
I have no idea. I did try to get to her before she died to see if we could make up or something, but I was half hour too late. That was 12 years ago now
Awwww
Dude. My daughter is nine.
I am SO not ready to even begin thinking about this.
You have a while before you need to…
Aaaaah
Wheeeeee
I am at the age where I am technically old enough to be a grandmother, but my kid isn’t mature enough to be a dad. Factor in my empty-nest syndrome and I’m racing the clock hoping he’ll have a kid before I do.
HA!!! Hey, I noticed you linked to my old Friday Funny post… Are we doing that every week? Because my computer is back not being on the internet. No way I can do that on the Ipad. You may have to make apologies for me.
No worries about FBF. From what I understand, we are going to run it each week and whomever wants to do it can. If you aren’t up for it, no problem. We’ll link to you anyway.
Thanks. Maybe next week I can do all the links at once… Somehow…
I know how to do it. I’ll send you an email with my idea.
Yay… I hope I will be able to read it…
I’m a nanna of 2 grandsons, and have dropped some pretty broad hints at my 29-year-old daughter that I need a granddaughter. Because… frilly knickers! So far, no dice. This plan of yours… let me know how it goes, and if they forgive you in the end. It’s got me thinking… As for my son and his wife, I live in hope! No babies yet. And who doesn’t love babies? xx MH
This might turn out to be one of my plans that seems like it makes perfect sense until I actually try to do it…
Yeah… people in control of their own reproductive capacity are so picky about birth control! It’s really a bit selfish of them, don’t you think? 😛
I thought I raised my daughters better than that…
Excellent plan. Then you’ll know exactly what to get them next year.
Good point
Better you than me. I’m way too young to be a grandma, nor do I have the energy to be one.
I want to do it while I do have some energy.
