Making your dreams come true… part 10…

Yes, I am still offering to take pictures of you and use Photoshop to stick your head in some unlikely places. If you want to get some ideas of what that might look like, I suggest you use that search thingy… up there in the top bar… the thing that looks like a magnifying glass… and search the other nine ‘making your dreams come true’ posts… because sometimes they turn out pretty weird… especially when people trust me to do whatever I want to with their heads.

This dream isn’t weird at all.

My friend over at: http://theviewfromadrawbridge.wordpress.com/     … and yes, she really worked on drawbridges, which is totally cool… had a simple dream. She wanted me to stick her head on that picture of Mary Tyler Moore. You know the one… in the opening credits of the Mary Tyler Moore show where she is throwing her hat up into the air.

The thing is… why does there always have to be a thing?… that there aren’t really any good full-body pictures of that iconic moment that I could find on Google. So it isn’t really that obvious that this picture is actually that picture, if you see what I mean.

The other thing is… oh yeah, there is another thing… that isn’t all there is to the story. My friend did something awesome. She gave up her bridge-tending life in Florida and drove all the way across America to take a new job in Seattle. That explains the background of this particular dream…

a 1 a 9See, I’m not really happy with the end result. All the elements are there. I did stick her head on Mary Tyler Moore’s body and then put it all together with a Seattle backdrop. It just feels less exciting than it should be. I don’t feel like I captured this life-changing moment.

But the thing is… hey, three things, that might be a record… I think she made a real dream come true. I mean, she packed up her stuff, said goodbye to a life she knew, and came West like a freakin’ pioneer!!! That is a dream, people…

a 1 a 10That took guts. I mean, she went from this…

a 1 a 12To this…

a 1 a 13Okay, I might be simplifying things a little here, but you can read all about her fantastic journey on her blog… she chronicled the whole thing… and find out what happens to her in her new life. And wish her well.

I think she is going to be fine. I have relatives in Seattle and go there every now and then. Maybe I can meet her there sometime and see how she is doing. But you have to admit, she did a pretty awesome thing.

Simplified or not, given gators or rain…well at least I’m used to the rain. Do they have crocodiles AND alligators there?

Hey, new idea for a movie – Crocolanche, it’s about a sleepy mountain town that has an avalanche but it’s full of crocodiles.

My friend Art, whose blog is awesome, by the way, did some totally charming photoshop work with my face, and told people about my journey to a new life. Check out these pictures! They’re awesome. I’m counting this as my midnight post for tonight, even though it’s only 9 am. I was just too excited to share this to wait. Hope you like it as much as I do!

  6. Awwww… thanks Art! I just love this. I appreciate your vote of confidence and I’m reposting it on my blog.
