Oh my word! i laughed so much when i read this! thanks! yes i HATE the new changes. super annoying. trying to add a link on an image caption seems to glitch now. stupid beep boop nonsense. why do they always change stuff that works? thanks for this post. so glad i’m not the only one who feels this way.
I usually get more worked up over these changes and do a bunch of posts… but I’ve been busy.

The other changes are just annoying.
The only thing I liked better about that idiotic beep/boop thing is that this format lets me set a featured image. I think they show elsewhere, though, because my blog’s template doesn’t show them on post titles.
One other person above said they just go to Dashboard to add a new post. This is what I normally do…
It was nice of them to leave us a work around.
There was already a way to set the featured image on the old way. It was on the right about ¾ of the way down.
If you click NEW on the left top at your blog name, it gives the old one – thankfully.
Right… I got that… it is like they new the changes sucked even as they did them.
Yep. which is why they have the option now of choosing the one that doesn’t suck, but you still have to have that pathetic beep beep boop. It is not bloody R2D2

Not all blog templates enable the use of a featured image – I looked everywhere on mine.

Go in through the dashboard to posts then new posts. I was able to bypass the beep stuff and use the old editor.

“More unwanted changes….” You got that right. And not only unwanted, apparently buggy and untested. I wrote about that myself this morning. Not sure who comes up with these things and believes they are “improvements” I guess they never heard the expression, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

My view said you can always just click on “classic” mode to see it the old way. Lame, but it worked.
They just keep doing these changes, and I keep doing posts about it… it keeps us both busy, I guess.

Ditto. Not a clue. I turned off all sounds the day I opened a WordPress account and I always add posts via Dashboard.
It isn’t just me that is annoyed… there are bulletin boards filling with outraged comments.
