The fires are still burning around San Diego. This is what the sky looked like this morning from my street…
When I first woke up and glanced outside, I could see the sky lit up with amazing colors…
I know that picture is a little blurry, but I hadn’t had my morning coffee yet… which made my idea of climbing my pine tree sort of stupid…
You can tell I was hanging on with one hand and leaning over to take that picture… there were a lot of pine needles in the way…
Well… that’s a little better. Did I mention that the local police, thanks to some alert civilians, have already arrested three people for starting fires here in San Diego… while some of the 9 other big fires are still burning? The really weird thing is that they don’t think these three people started any of the other fires. They were just copycats.
There are some sick people in this world.

I’m glad they caught the idiots who started the fires – they should make them pay the millions of dollars it’s costing to fight the fire, replace homes & possessions, etc. Then they should be paraded in front of every single person who was affected by the fires – homeowners who lost their homes, children of firefighters whose parents couldn’t attend their birthday parties because they had to fight the fire, etc., etc., etc. Those 3 culprits should have to apologize to every single person affected by the fires, one at a time, looking them in the eye, allowing the people to be mad at them if that’s what it takes!

Often times when driving in the farm country of Pa at sunset, I stop to take pictures as the sun sets on a windmill. But all too often my either my skills or the quality of my camera lets me down.
I know what you mean. I have a cell phone, and I have a cheap camera I got for Father’s day… some day I will get one with a big, manly telephoto lens. All the vacation pictures I am posting of Maui lately are all cellphone or cheap camera pics.
Looking at these photos brought to mind…and then someone mentioned plastic surgery and all I could think of was that 95% of Californians melting. I’m a very bad person.

Which just makes the fires so much more heart-wrenching.
Maybe they did it to see the sunrises. Don’t encourage criminals…
