So… yeah… we went to Disneyland… again…

My wife looked on some website and told me that, because it was a weekend, and some schools had started spring break, and because it was going to be 80 degrees, the crowd was going to be a ‘9 out of 10’. Hey… I thought she meant 9 out of 10 on the attractiveness scale… boy, let me tell you… not even close… no, it turned out she meant 9 out of 10 on the ‘crowd size’ scale. I am fairly certain that the website meant the size of the crowd itself, not the size of the individuals making up the crowd… but I am pretty sure that was at least an 8 out of 9.

But there was no way to get out of it. Mollie turned 15 last week, so we took her and a friend. We let them run around on their own all day. My wife and I decided not to stand in the long lines. We did a few of the popular rides early in the day… pirates and Indiana Jones… but we spent the rest of the day doing all the things you never do at Disneyland because you run out of time. We went up in Tarzan’s tree house. I want a tree house made from an old sailing ship in my yard.

I am actually growing a pine tree in the yard for a future tree house… remind me to take pictures of that… Anyway, we went and saw the animatronic President Lincoln give a speech. We went and saw the silly Western comedy show at the Golden Horseshoe. And we staked out an awesome table at that restaurant at the end of Main Street… the one with the Mary Poppins theme, and took turns holding that table for hours so we had an awesome view of the fireworks. We had to eat a lot of food so we had a reason to keep the table. We tried every pastry they had… I liked the little macaroon cupcake frosted to resemble the Matterhorn…

One advantage of that table is that we had a view of the parade going by. I won’t bore you with too many pictures… but I did see Donald Duck… tweerking… and working a pole…

But hey… Disneyland is in California…

I love this crazy state.

I will be back with more pictures later.

I went to Disneyland 46 years ago. The things I remember the best? Animatronic President Lincoln, It’s a Small World ride, the crazy roller coaster ride through the mountain, the pirate ship ride. Lincoln has held up well, I see.

I may skip this on my California Itinerary. If it were 20 years ago in my LSD days it may be another story

I’ve only been to Disneyland in Paris, and only once…I would love to go! Lucky you 🙂
