Going to Disneyland turned me into a Canadian…

Because now I have seen some moose… mooses… moosi…

And I saw a beaver…

So now Trent and Zoe and all my Canadian minions can stop acting so superior. In fact, I think I saw something that even most Canadians have never seen… a duck sitting on the back of a moose…

I should probably get promoted to Mounty for that. I took these pictures when we went on a couple of boat rides. That is the advantage of not trying to fight the long lines to get on the popular rides. We did the stuff you always mean to get to but never do. We rode on the Mark Twain, a replica of a paddle wheel steamer.

Now don’t get me wrong. I have been on a real paddle wheeler on the Mississippi river. But this was sort of fun. I love boats…

a 1 a 5

There is just something cool about boats…

a 1 a 6

Although I do have to watch my head. We also rode on the Columbia… or the replica of the Columbia, the first ship to carry the American flag around the world…

Sail boats are extra cool. These were the starships of their time. And I do love me some rigging…

a 1 a 8

But I made sure to man the deck gun when I saw a duck circling… I didn’t want him to ride me like a moose…

Hey, did you know there is even a little petting zoo in the Western part of Disneyland?

a 1 a 10

I met some new friends. Like that donkey and these two sleepy goats…

And I discovered that goats really like to be scratched under the chin…

Next time you go to Disneyland when it is crowded, avoid the regular stuff and check out some of the things you never end up seeing. You will not be sorry.

Disney is always a good time.

Snow, Art. You need to be mildly exasperated by at least eight feet of snow if you want Canadians to take you seriously.
Oh, and don’t call it Canadian bacon. Apparently they’re touchy about that.

The plural of moose is moose, not meeses or mooses or moosi – just moose. No Mountie for you if you don’t know the plural of moose!

psst…I don’t think those moose are real Art. I don’t think real moose have those streaks on their bodies that look suspiciously like… never mind. Those are moose replicas. and beaver replica.
oh heck, I am gonna go talk to myself.

Do you photoshop the clouds out?! No clouds! I need to book some flights!

  5. It looks like you had a great time. I really think we need to see you in a Mountie uniform to make your initiation complete.

I regret to tell you, sir, that the beaver in your photo is named Bub, and he is a deserter from our armed forces. We sent him to Detroit once, to clean up the place, and were prepared to light him up when he leapt into the river… which then proceeded to light up. I don’t know how he got to the other side. But thanks for outing his location… we shall send our moosi to retreive him. Bub’s gonna have a hard spring…

Sounds like you had fun, Art. I’ve never been to Disneyland or Disney World or even any theme parks.

  8. We have Moose in Colorado!! Ran into one on a hike…Scary but beautiful.

  9. We don’t act superior we are superior

  10. Hmmm…this is the first time I ever heard that Disneyland made somebody a Canadian! Now to complete the transformation, you need to eat poutine & donairs (you’ll like ’em, I did), and get “screeched in” (drink rum and kiss a codfish)! 😉
