… how much I appreciate you?
I know I do those posts now and then explaining how getting hits and followers increases my chances of having my novels published by a real publishing house. But this blog isn’t just a means to an end. I like sharing my life with you. My art, my writing, my crazy ideas and weird thoughts. The photos of my travels and everyday life.
Every time I check back in to my blog… which happens a surprising number of times on any given day… I always check the comments first. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say. You make me laugh. You make me feel like I am doing something worth while.
On top of that, many of you have purchased my first novel, which means more to me than I can say. I have just about paid off the editor and am getting ready to publish the second book in the series. Right after I take care of the monkey book for kids.
So many of you have given me technical support, patiently talked me through the steps of doing something that shouldn’t be so difficult, but for a computer moron like me seems overwhelming.
The truth is I finally feel as if I have a place to share all these crazy thoughts with people who care. This is my life. I have shown you some of my earliest creations, poems and songs and paintings and drawings that I did years ago. I also tell you what is going on in my life now. And all the bizarre thoughts I have.
And I am putting my stuff out there. I am putting short stories and poems on other blogs. I am collaborating and writing with other people. Some of my stuff has even been published in compilations with other people.
None of the stuff I do here means anything if nobody sees it.
So really, on my blog, you are much more important than I am.
I just create a place for us to meet, to talk, to laugh, to think. If it wasn’t for you, this would just be an empty room.

I want to. But it would mean typing up thousands of words from scratch when I am already finishing one book, editing another, and so much more. I need to see if I can find something in that range that I already have mostly done.

The comment you left on my blog was a classic and I see that you did expand it and turn it into a post. It’s good to know that I’m not alone in the world of zaniness.
