***Do not read this unless you have a strong stomach and a sense of humor***
There has been a trend going on in America for the last few years. People are combing things. They breed a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle and we end up with a Labradoodle. They are also using genetic science to combine various fruits and vegetables together to get new hybrids. I think that is how we ended up with craisins. Some scientist in an underground laboratory did something unholy with a cranberry and a raisin.
I have taken it upon myself to undertake a few experiments of my own. I am going to try to combine some common food items, fruits, vegetables, nuts and herbs, to see if I can come up with some tasty new snacks and beverages for you to enjoy.
But the really fun part of this experiment is that I get to stick the two names that I combine together to come up with a new name for a brand new food or drink. If we have fun with this, you can play the game too. We can move on to mixing other things.
Here are a few of my ideas, just off the top of my head;
broccoli + banana = bronana
asparagus + parsnips = assnips
pimento + apple = pimple
mellon + broccoli = melloncoli… (sorry, that was just a cheap shot)
radish + lemon = radmon
sage + persimmon = sagimon
chard + leeks = cheeks
oregano + pickle = oricle
dill + radishes = dilishes
pumpkin + chard = pumphard
mango + apple = mangle
grapes + garbanzo = grabanzo
almond + walnuts = allnuts
rutabaga + banana = rutanana
squash + celery = squalery
cherry + peach = cheach
shallot + radishes = shallishes
cauliflower + sprouts = caulouts
squash + pickles= squickles
garbanzo + orange = garbge
anise + banana = ananana
tomato + walnuts = tomnuts
parsley + carrots = parrots
pear + radish = pearish
cumquat + lemon = cumon
loquat + broccoli = loccoli
mango + raisins = mansins
peach + apple = pepple
blueberry + walnuts = bluenuts
leeks + cherry = leery
beets + pear = beer… (or bear?)
squash + peach = squeach
walnut + grapes = walapes
dill + chard = dihard
shallots + grapes = shapes
peach + anise =penise
cashew + cumquats =cashquats
peas + shallots = pealots
peas + carrots = pearots
thyme + carrots = thyrots
pumpkin + shallots = pumplots
squash + grapes = squapes
anise + walnuts = analnuts… (sorry again)
almond + raisins = alsins

Some one had way too much time on their hands that could have been better spent picking their feet in Poughkeepsie with Popeye.May you never be shut down again.
Till the next stupid thing.
Doesn’t look good then, does it?
Not really.
Mayonnaise + Mustard = Manturd we actually use this in our house because we mix the two for tater tots. π
Welll that is cheating a little, but still a good one.
Not sure I would want to taste some of these combinations though!
Maybe not.
So fun and funny, love it! (=
Thank you so much.
Are you coming up with new names for bands or snacks?
Either way.
Brilliantly done, I let rip a loud laugh at assnips. And would honestly love to shop for squickles, such a charming name for something
Thank you. That post actually took a couple of days to compile. I think we should do finished food… like bread and beer and pizza now.
It was genius, best post of the week.
Well, I was shut down for half of that… but thanks.
I laughed so hard at your list! And I think I muttered “he is so weird” a couple of times! Lol I love the way you think! You crack me up!
P.S. I don’t think I’m shameless, but I am nosy beyond measure. I love, love, love you are a statistics person!!! Yes!
Nice to meet you! Duffy1958

I don’t mean to sound even more pompous and arrogant than I usually do, but this is one of my less-than-normally-weird posts… just sayin’… But I am glad you enjoyed. Thanks so much.
ha! you know the weirdest yes sweetest dog i think i’ve ever seen was a mix between a basset hound and a golden retriever. It had the golden’s hair, tail and face, and the basset hounds body…lol
I need to see a picture of that…
i could send you one i actually took and saved a pic of it because it was so different. It was in obedience training with our dog. I’ll email you with it!
Cool…
