When you take a walk with a kid…

And they have to touch every flower they see…

a-2

Or even a big stump…

a-3

And you realize that they are communing with nature on some deep, primal level…

a-4

And you know that somehow, they are instinctively aware of the fact that they are part of nature…

a-5

And yet, some kids will grow up to be oil company executives or climate change deniers… which is why I love kids… but am not so sure about most adults… sigh.

    Since some kids grow up pulling legs out of flies and burning ants with a lense, I think that explains where climate change deniers and oil CEOs are coming from.

    I think we adults learn not to touch, as if it’s somehow wrong. Maybe the ones who forget what a flower feels like are the ones who turn into deniers. 😦
