When you take a walk with a kid…

And they have to touch every flower they see…

Or even a big stump…

And you realize that they are communing with nature on some deep, primal level…

And you know that somehow, they are instinctively aware of the fact that they are part of nature…

And yet, some kids will grow up to be oil company executives or climate change deniers… which is why I love kids… but am not so sure about most adults… sigh.

Since some kids grow up pulling legs out of flies and burning ants with a lense, I think that explains where climate change deniers and oil CEOs are coming from.

Yep, I know what you mean. Here’s hoping all of us can somehow keep the wonder of a child alive inside us.

I think we adults learn not to touch, as if it’s somehow wrong. Maybe the ones who forget what a flower feels like are the ones who turn into deniers. 😦
