I mean, I really do love boats, but the title is just a little joke, a play on words about that rap song; ‘I like big butts’… we went camping this weekend down by Mission Bay in San Diego.

We were unaware that the ‘thunder boat’ races were going on this weekend.

We only spent a few minutes watching them, but it was an awesome chance to test out the zoom lens.

Man, those boats are loud… and fast…

Those are the boats that go so fast that they sometimes lift up off the water and flip end over end.

The drivers sit in special armored capsules that break away from the boat in the event of a catastrophic crash.

I love the way they shoot up the big rooster tails of water.

It really was sort of awesome.

They look almost like little space ships flying really, really low.

There was just something about the way the throbbing roar of the engines bounced off the hills around the bay. You could feel it in your guts, like the bass and drums at a really loud rock concert.
