Doobster day… part 2…

Well there me and my new… old… blog buddy were… smack dab in downtown San Francisco… and I had a hankerin’ for some adventure. We tried to do a think that I like to do now and then involving riding the glass elevators on the outside of a tall hotel that is very scary but offer some great views… I did a post about it once… but they changed the rules and now you must have a room key to ride them, so we thought we would look for some good views at the top of this fancy hotel, a San Francisco landmark…

We rode the elevator to the top of the Sir Francis Drake, but there was a problem. The whole top floor was closed because the ‘Starlight Room’ didn’t open until 6:00 pm. I had this idea that we could get off on the floor below and then sneak up… and then when we started to actually do it, and found ourselves in the ballroom, I was sort of panicking… the thing is… and this is a hard thing to admit with my reputation… but my wife now has a ‘no bailing me out of jail’ policy, so I am a little more careful about letting my adventures get too adventurous now… but the Doobster got caught up in my crazy plan and wouldn’t take no for an answer…

And in this next picture, you can see the glass elevator that we tried to get on and couldn’t…

a 1 a 3That’s it way over there on that other hotel, clinging to the outside like a cockroach. Actually, there are more than one. Anyway, we took some pictures of the view…

That down there is Union Square, and the big Christmas tree from the earlier posts.

And you can see people ice skating way down there. The ballroom was pretty cool.

And I took this next picture of the painted ceiling in a vestibule…

That summed up our little adventure way up above San Francisco… we were trying to be little angels… but you can see from the red tint that there was a little bit of devilishness going on too. HA!

Lunch & sneaking into a hotel ballroom? That’s the sum of your adventure? Hmmmmm . . .

Awesome that you were able to meet up and spend the day. When I met up with a blogger it was great. Getting to see the person behind the words and images.

Never met a WP friend but have several Facebook friends. It is a lot of fun. You know them but you don’t. We are still friends though. Glad you guys had fun. Did you leave your squirrels in San Francisco??

Can you actually skate on an out door rink in San Francisco at this time of year?

Well, I don’t see a ring of police vehicles around the place or SWAT getting ready to breach, so that must mean y’all are good at not getting caught.

Do you have a third phase to your shenanigans, or are y’all quitting while you’re ahead?
