Oh, and just so you know, this post has actual pictures of my wife that I didn’t cover up in Photoshop, even thought she really doesn’t want to be on the blog, but hey, I yield to public pressure.
So, yeah, now that Jessica lives in another state and Mollie is 15 and can stay home alone, or goes places on her own for longer periods of time, my wife and I have been dating again. I don’t mean to say that we never did anything together, but real, romantic dates were few and far between. And as long as I am clearing off the pictures from my cell phone, I figure I would share some stories with you.
We went out to a nice meal in downtown San Diego a few months ago. We don’t often go out for expensive meals, but it is nice to splurge now and then…
We ate at the Hyatt… way up at the top, where those big windows are, over at the right…
The food was good, and the drinks were good…
But the views were awesome.
We were way the heck up there.
I mean, it was actually a little bit scary…
I have never really liked heights.
There is a good view of the USS Midway, an old World War Two carrier. Did I mention that I used to volunteer on that ship. I was part of the restoration crew that helped turn it into a floating museum. I should really go back onboard sometime and take some pictures of the work I did. I used to love exploring way down in the bowels of the ship all by myself… in the dark… it was creepy.
After dinner, we walked around downtown for a while. That is where I met my new pirate friend.
There is the Midway… not the best picture, but an interesting silhouette.
We walked along the bay by all the huge, expensive yachts, and we watched the sun set. And now, as I promised, pictures of my lovely wife, completely un-retouched…
Isn’t she beautiful? We even took a picture of a passing couple with their camera… because they asked us to… and then had them take a picture of us…
Look at those smiles…
I hope she forgives me.

Great post! I love reading personal details about you guys. It’s fun and shows you’re human. 😉
Those pics of your wife, and then of the two of you…perfect. – Crystal
Hey… who says I’m human???
More like SUPERhuman, yes? Lol!
Okay… maybe that…
This looks amazing. And you are such a good husband and dad!
I do what I can
I trucked around the US for years and it’s hard to amaze me with pictures, but these pictures were definitely amazing. Nicely done Art. And finally we get to meet the woman behind the man – the inspiration for the Art. Ha! And a lovely woman she is too. She must stop changing colors when the sun goes down – Artfully captured my friend.
Sorry msmonsterful, didn’t realize you’d used the same Artful turn of phrase, until I prssed the post button.
That can never be said too often.
I do what I can, thanks.
That right there was Artfully done.
yup
still working on Greenland. I tried finding a Greenland proxy (just go with it, Art) but came up zilch-o. Now I’m looking for Greenland forums in hopes I can convince some kind soul to take a moment from watching the ice sheets melt to go and visit your blog.
“I’m on a mission from Art.”
You might be in for a minion promotion… more on that soon…
