Warning… this post contains pictures of fingers doing rude gestures that equate to saying a bad word… caution is advised…

So… uh… while I was in Maui, I invented two new ways to flip people off. I am not saying that alcohol had anything to do with this… but I did invent them after we went to a luau where they served all the free tropical adult beverages you could drink….

The first rude gesture involves the classic Hawaiian hand gesture that means: ‘hang loose’…

While you are making this sign with your hand, I discovered that you can still extend your middle finger…

I like to call this one: ‘HLAFO’… hang loose and f*** off… for when you want someone to f*** off, but you are not too worked up about it.

This next one I call: ‘A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’. You walk up to the person you are displeased with, clutching one hand over the other as if you are gently holding something…

You tell them, “Hey, look, I found a baby bird.” Then, when you lift the top hand, this is what appears…

No… I am not really proud of myself. But I do crack myself up. And that is the next best thing.

  4. Art, I know you haven’t read much of my stuff, but, did you happen to read my post “Drowning In Paradise”? Let’s just say I could have definitely used both of these hand gestures that day. 😉

So, here I am waiting with baited breathe for the next installment of the beautiful Hawaiian landscape and what do we get? A baby bird. Ha! Have to confess, not to encourage you, but I did laugh out loud.

I refuse to encourage you by laughing. However, I am smiling broadly.

That last one was a favourite of mine a few years ago. I like the HLAFO
