More ancient history from the early days of my blog…

This one was called: It wasn’t all blood and guts. The funny thing is that I actually sold that watercolor abstract painting to one of my followers in Canada. I am still waiting for her to do a post about it.

——————————

I have my ‘love and flowers’ hippy side that sometimes comes through…

(Notice that there is both colored pencil and paint used here… we begin to touch on multimedia)…

Even the battles themselves where occasionally whimsical…

I like castles…

And surrealistic alien landscapes…

And just plain weird stuff. This picture can be turned in any direction… there is no up or down in… A Comedy Of Arrows…

Meanwhile, I took my first, faltering steps playing with watercolors… a deceptively difficult medium to master… (Which is why abstract art is so great… no one else knows if you do it wrong!)…

And yes, I still drew a lot of violent stuff, but it was getting more sophisticated, more clever…

This strange picture of a Japanese machine gun nest is actually a 3D diorama. The background with the U.S. Marines landing is mounted on a bent arch. The guys in the bunker are cut out so you can actually look past them… Unfortunately, the scanner cover squashed the whole thing, but maybe you get the idea…

So where does this all leave us… or take us,… or whatever…?

Well, let me tell you…

If you can draw, even just a little, and paint, and play with art in the computer, then there are no limits to what you can do with your artistic visions… None whatsoever…

This is multimedia… combining all types of art, and even photos of the real world, and bending them to fulfill your wishes. You are creating life from light and color, and this means you are playing with the very cosmic origins of the universe… And having fun doing it…

  1. You certainly are experienced in a multitude of mediums.

I think I explained in a recent comment about why it isn’t featured on my blog yet, but I have not forgotten. The painting is sitting on my dining room table to make sure I remember. I am proud to say I am the owner of a Art Browne original!

    Pretty freaky but fun.

  4. I think everybody loves castles. They secretly wish that in a previous life, they were a baron or baroness. Or may be it is just me. Although the alien landscapes don’t particularly excite me. I truly believe that man will definitely positively find a way to extinguish all life in this beautiful place.

    PS
I haven’t been active in wordpress. At all. Stupid work stuff. Forgive the lack of presence. Although you certainly don’t need it. 😀

This is my favorite kind of ancient history.
