Guys… don’t buy the love of your life cut flowers. Get a living plant, keep it in the house for a while to remind her how sweet you are, and then plant it in the garden to show her that your love will continue to grow and flourish. Keep the love alive… and fill her life with colors and fragrances that will constantly remind her of you…
Unless you are dating a psycho-bitch… then cut flowers are fine… I mean, how long do they really need to last?

So much difference between cut flowers & living plants (which never live anyway!) If you don’t know the difference, you never will.
Living plants never live?
Not in my hands!
That is sad
I cannot keep a chrysanthemum, African Violet or other flowering plant alive, but I have a Peace Lily I’ve managed to keep alive for about 30 years. We just divided it from 1 into 3 plants & all are doing wonderfully!
There is hope
Lol my fav so far n yes living plants a much better idea.
funny and romantic…
Oh no no no no…
My wife professes to have a brown thumb, so she does NOT appreciate a gift of a potted plant. She’s afraid she’ll kill it. She’d rather have cut flowers, and she doesn’t mind when they die.
Fortunately, however, when we moved into our house a few years ago, rose bushes were already there. Cimmy is very good about deadheading them to keep them blooming, so we can have cut roses a-plenty. I also won a purple hyacinth at a spring social a while back and it seems to be quite happy in our front flower bed.
There are lots of plants that are hard to kill… geraniums are good… and you can just break off a piece and stick it in the ground and it will turn into a new plant.
I shall consider planting geraniums some time in the future, then.
Yet I have had offers to take the remains from thinned out irises— from a neighbor, and from in-laws. We shall see what happens, especially as the time to get them (in the autumn) has already passed.
there are a lot of plant options
